Turbografx question.

Postby Gentlegamer1 » January 25th, 2015, 10:06 pm

They are out of stock now, but I recommend getting an extension cord from Retro Game Cave http://retrogamecave.com/#/shop/4577155957/turbografx-custom-cables/5907870

It's where I got mine, it matches the cord and is high quality.

Turbografx question.

Thanks for all the replies. I ordered a 9 ft extension cable that should do the trick. I've been shopping pc engine games, hu cards and cds. I didn't realize there was literally a thousand games made for this in Japan. I started ordering pc engine versions of tg-16 classics. The arcade style games won't matter that they are in Japanese. They also cost about 30% less than there tg-16 counterpart. Funny that Galaga 90' over there was called Galaga 88'. Took 2 years to bring it stateside. I already have lords of Thunder, Gate of Thunder, bonks adventure, bonks revenge and alien crush (it came with the system). 2 pc engine RPGs also came with the console. Unfortunately I don't speak Japanese so these are pretty worthless to me. I'm very impressed with the system thanks for the recommendation. You guys literally saved my butt on this. It's so much better than that pos tg16 cd mess I had before. This console is sexy looking, well built and makes a proud addition to my game room. I'm going to have loads of fun hunting gems I've never heard of that only came or on Japan.

Thanks again,

Wallyworld

There is also no copy protection, so you may freely play burned CDs on your Duo-R. You'll want to get the Arcade Duo card so you can play Sapphire.

I just bought a lot of 20 pc engine hu cards games for super cheap. That got me thinking I'll just buy pc engine version of the Popular North American games. So I bought Legendary Axe 2 and Galaga 88' (galaga 90' here) on pc engine for much less money than their american counterparts. For arcade style games it won't matter what language they are.

Not only that, you'll have much more options with the PC Engine library. The TG 16 library
is fine, but seriously lacking if compared to the Japanese line up.

I just ordered a lot of 40 hu card games fir the pc engine. No doubt sinew I'd then will be only fun in 2 player. What is the multi tap called for the duo-r? Does it work with the pc engine one or does it have is own?

Thanks again,

Wallyworld

Multitaps compatible with the Japanese PC Engine will definitely work with the Duo R as well.

Great! I just ordered one with an Avenue 6 button controller.

Can't wait for all this stuff to come in. It will feel like Christmas.
