Perfect Games?
I agree with 4 games listed so far
Guitar Hero Playstation 2
Resident Evil 4 Gamecube
Virtua Tennis Dreamcast
Super Mario Bros. 3
The rest of the games, don't get the wrong impression, I have either not played or think are near-perfect games. I don't think God of War and Crazy Taxi are perfect, but they are really fun games.
Perfect Games?
Galaga 90 was too hard, SMB3 was CLOSE to perfect but too many cheats let you beat it quickly and the ending was an anti climax!
NOTHING is purfecct!
(Unless..NOTHING is SOMETHING, then something would be perfect, but NOTHING is...my head hurts!)

Perfect Games?
Is ANY game really perfect?
I guess no game is truly perfect, but I think the games I listed are pretty close. There was never a needlesslyfrustrating part in any of those games, and I always had to come back for more. With Virtua Tennis I kept losing to King in the end of the World Cup (or whatever the long map with mini-games, matches, and stuff you can buy is called), but I came back at least 20 times until I beat him. Never once did I think the computer was "cheap".
I do agree to some level that SMB3 was anti-climactic at the end (I had an easier time beating Bowser than the level 3 boss!), but the rest of the game more than made up for it.
Guitar Hero was the best 2-player game I have ever played, and had a very rewarding single player experience as well. My brother and I whipped that game out every day for at least 2 weeks, and normally I play games maybe one day a week (I spend more time posting here than actually playing).
Then there's Resident Evil 4. I have yet to conquer Mercenaries, it requires a certain level of patience that I lack, but I have still spent more time on it than any other single-player console game I can think of. I have beat it 3 times, plus the Assignment Ada mode, and I have tried Mercenaries multiple times. Never once in my 3 plays through did it even feel at all repetitive. Every time through I found new secrets, new strategies, and new areas. Of all the games I have played RE4 is the closest to perfect.
Perfect Games?
Without doubt, the best game I have played is Ocarina Of Time. Just an amazing piece of software. I've never played anything as good since.

I don't know how you can include Perfect Dark on that list. The slow framerate and bad controls courtesy of the N64 make it far from perfect.

Perfect Games?
This thread is fine, but in the future let's keep these types of discussions on the General board or Ask the Video Game Critic. I'd like to control the new threads on this one.
Thanks
Dave

Perfect Games?
Sorry to post again, but I thought of another game I consider perfect. Ratchet and Clank: Up Your Arsenal. Never once was I frustrated with that game, although it was difficult, and I kept coming back for more. Any addictive game I am never annoyed with I consider perfect.
P.S. Should I stop posting here since it is in the wrong section?
