Zelda: Ocarina of Time (3DS)

Postby Captain_Crunch1 » March 17th, 2015, 4:17 am

I liked all the 2D Zelda games I played (Link's Awakening, Link to the Past, Link Between Worlds, Phantom Hourglass) so finally decided to give Ocarina of Time (3DS remake) a chance. The game offers everything I like - great characters, nice graphics, good controls, excellent Zelda atmosphere. However, I just cannot get into it, did anyone else experience the same? My main problem is the lack of save points, couldn't they have added some more in this remake? I find it really tedious to walk all the way a certain just because it lack save points...

Are you sure you're not playing Majora's Mask? You can save at any point in Ocarina of time, both on the N64, and the 3DS.

And this is my favorite game of all time.

Yeah, you can save at any time in Ocarina of Time.  Majora's Mask only allows you to save at the statues, or by playing the reverse Song of Time and going back to day 1.

Yes, you can save anywhere, but you always start off at the same location (in the beginning, the first village), which I find kind of frustrating.

If you save in a dungeon you start at its entrance when you load the game

Zelda: Ocarina of Time is one of my all time favorite video games, but I can agree that treading from place to place on foot can be annoying. Fortunately, reaching destinations becomes a lot easier once you become Adult Link. Not only do you get a horse, you also gradually unlock Ocarina songs that teleport Link to places.

With that said, it would have been nice if the game was updated with save points.

Yeah... I loved the game on the 3DS but the backtracking was kind of annoying (until you get your teleport spells). I found myself rolling through Hyrule to get to my destination as fast as possible. I couldn't do the backwards hop thing without running into walls so that was my fastest option.

Nice of you to look out for people but I feel like the statute of limitations has expired in regards to getting mad at people for spoilers to ocarina of tome. Lol

Hey man, you never know. I was planning on getting around to playing Swordquest one of these days. I don't know how that one ends.
