The first movie was released 30 years ago...in the future!
Oddly, it was a very popular trilogy with neither a huge video game footprint, nor much a time travel footprint.
I always enjoy good time travel stories, having tried to figure out Planet of the Ape time loops at an early age, but this story I enjoyed more for the characters or the story than really thinking about the time travel parts.
Maybe I should buy that Flux Capacitor USB car charger I saw in SkyMall magazine...oh that's silly, there is no SkyMall magazine anymore. But with a flux capacitor...maybe I can change all that.

It's awesome to finally make it to Back to the Future II. I can't recall them getting anything right. No flying cars, Hover Boards or Chicago Cubs World Series Champions. Where's the hydrating pizzas for Pizza Hut? Also there were still phone booths in the future.

Yea I realized too that 2015 didn't turn out exactly like in the movie. Although, I think the Cubs beat Miami, so they got one thing right, Miami has a baseball team.

There's hoverboards in their early stages.
There's wireless printing, remember in Martie's house? "YOU'RE FIRED".
Interestingly enough, video calling was demonstrated, as well as flexible screens over the window (OLED screens are flexible screens). His "big boss" was listening in to the call, as if to predict Edward Snowdens leak of NSA surveillance. The 80's made a cultural comeback, but they were about 10 years late, as now it's all about the 90's. But in the cafe the kids were interested slightly in wild gunman, and now, many young kids are interested in retro gaming. So yes, there are quite a few things the movie got right, but not QUITE to the degree everyone wanted. I see us getting there in about 10-20 years though. As someone born in 1973, I can say we've already made a few cool advancements the movie didn't even predict. Like 3D printing.

Yea I did notice that there was that 80s retro thing early last decade, it was the coolest thing to go to some small club and listen to 80s music or music inspired by the 80s, and dress the part looking like such a poseur with tight t-shirts or whatever, and during those years there was this huge anti 90s thing, everyone was hating on it, it was the most loser thing to like music or fashion from that era, probably video games too. And then I think people realized that they were being ridiculous, or that's what I realized.
