I just made a bunch of adjustments to the font/colors:
1. the background in the private message is black instead of white (so you can read)
2. I reduced a lot of the bold, enlarged text which looked abrasive
3. I moved the profile panel to the left. Please let me know if this messes up the portable version (I didn't test that).
4. Darkened the gray background in the quote sections.
I was not able to do anything about the read/unread icons. That will require some work but hopefully I'll get around to it.
Comments?

Re: Forum colors and font
I think there may be one last thing to do to optimize the forum layout.
The profile information on the left includes, join date, which is fine, but it extends way too far. I would change it to XX/XX/XXXX format and omit the time of day to save space.

The forum is looking better, but on my widescreen monitor it's justified to the left instead of centered. Is it that way for all of you?

Mine is in the center. I haven't noticed any problems.

It's the same using IE11 and Firefox. I just checked Chrome, which I don't normally use and it is centered.

So the normal site is centered but the forums are left justified?
And you're on a PC right?

Strange. I have no issues on Mac or PC using either IE, Chrome, Safari, or Firefox.
