I think ptdebate would be a fine candidate for RPG review submissions, but it occurred to me that it's far too much to ask of one person. So I got to thinking maybe I could put together a "RPG Review Crew" who could share the load. That way I could get reviews on a fairly regular basis and there would be no pressure on any particular person.
To help facilitate this I could create an RPG Review Crew forum that only RPG reviewers could see. They could use that to post reviews in progress, coordinate, and help each other out.
What do you think?

I think it's a great idea. RPGS are very time consuming. I'd love to see rpg reviews being cranked or on a regular basis. Lord knows there are tons of classics that haven't been reviewed on this site.

I think you should suck it up and learn to love RPGs.

Rather than an exclusive group, perhaps select reviews from the reader reviews forum when they become available?

I think that's a great idea. I'll write up a review or two in the next couple of days and see if it's worth throwing my hat into the ring.

This is a fantastic idea, critic! Though I'm not super experienced with RPGs, I'd like to contribute as well.

I'm very excited for the opportunity to contribute to the site! I would like to nominate (or forcibly volunteer ) nesfan as another contributor due to his knowledge and candor in this genre.
Also, lol Gentlegamer, we've been down that road too many times so save your proselytizing.

Also--I like the idea of having a review committee to collaborate on games, especially ones that everyone has a strong opinion about like Final Fantasy VII.

The RPG crew sounds a great idea and only recently started exploring RPG's thanks to my iPhone it would be great to hear about a broader spectrum of games. So far Vay is my favourite RPG.
Out of interest how are you planning to select your games to review and keep coverage spanning the various console generations ?

I think this is a really great idea, Critic. RPGs are a vital part of gaming but one that admittedly doesn't work well with a format where one person (Dave) is reviewing every game in every genre. RPGs tend to be lengthy, but it's a hardcore gaming genre and has a lot of fans. There are certain sites (RPGamer, RPGFan, etc) that only concern itself with role playing games and a rather large staff is necessary to stay up to date.
I'm playing Persona Q (3DS) right now in preparation for Persona 5 (PS4, PS3) and at 55 hours in, I still have plenty of game left to go. If every game is similar, you're really only going to get a review per month-- maybe two-- out of a single person. It's a great way for the forum to "pull its weight" and bring in new people to the site. Also, as JRPGs are my favorite genre, it's something that I've felt is missing from the VGC website for far too long. It's a win for so many different reasons. I definitely support this.
