Activision games on other systems always tend to copy the same visuals from the 2600 games, but keystone capers looks at least somewhat different, but still lazy in the graphics department.

I'd bump the grade up to an A- when Bump N Jump is played with the steering wheel! Compared to other Coleco steering wheel games (Turbo, Pit Stop and Dukes of Hazzard) there is absolutely no drifting when controlling your car. The steering is very precise and using the pedal does convey a real sense of driving. I think it adds greatly to an already fun game.

Due to the steering wheel this is my favorite version of this game but the 2600 and Intellivision ports are outstanding as well.

As always - happy to see reviews for games that came out before 1990!

I also rate Bump 'n' Jump quite a bit higher, although I like to use the standard controller. I tried the steering wheel, but didn't like having to move the joystick every time I needed to jump. I agree that those bushes on the left are a pain, but once you know to look out for them they're not hard to avoid. The 4th level absolutely kills me with its road islands, ponds and multiple platforms that you have to jump across. Still I find the game very fun and challenging. I don't have Keystone Kapers yet.

Apparently that was Activision's policy. Games were supposed to look the same across all systems. Activision started with the 2600, so their releases look like 2600 games.

Imagic was a better developer. They may have started with the 2600, but they tried to get the most out of every system they developed for.

That's a ridiculous policy. Did they do it so it wouldn't look like they were favoring any particular system?

The 2600 was their bread and butter so they had little incentive to make their efforts on that system look 2nd rate in comparison, by heavily enhancing ports of that content.

Dig dong...
That is me chiming in Critic.
Oh both look fantastic. I would love to play them on my colecovision but ... it broke a couple of years back..

I had a look online to see if I could get another on and they told me it was a mere £999... which is pretty steep for a second hand console... esp the erratic coleco.

Though if that Jaguar Coleco console hybrid comes out and I could play my old coleco games I would be made up..
plus I have a steering wheel...
