Lazy Video Game Localization moments!

Postby Sonicx9 » October 9th, 2016, 3:15 pm

I would like to start a topic on the most lazy video game localization moments out their!

Did you know that the most popular PS4 exclusive Uncharted 4: A Thief's End had an official legal release in the Saudi Arabia market complete with a localised cover and an original GCAM age rating used in the Saudi Arbia market!: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fhY9W--s66k But in the unboxing video, it has the PEGI PAL version disc, and it leads to some weird inconstancy as the disc is rated PEG 16, but 18+ rating for the cover art in Saudi Arbia showing a lazy localization job!

Note that GCAM age ratings in Saudi Arabia is now going to be used for video games to replace both PEGI age rating system from Europe/Pal games on PC games/Xbox consoles and PlayStation Consoles/Handhelds, and the ESRB for Nintendo Consoles/Handhelds because of the strict rules of the Saudi Arabia Video Game market compared to everywhere else!

More info from Saudi Arbia IGN: http://me.ign.com/en/ps4/122665/news/sa ... tem-update

Also the Mortal Kombat series in Japan is lazy localization job with no changes except fro Mortal Kombat 2 SNES being censored in the Japanese Super Famicom version, and the narrator for the PS1 version of Mortal Kombat 3 in Japan, and the covers/manuales being translated in Japanese text/Japanese packaging!: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W9jdoJDV7zk

Any other examples out their, please post and share?
