Yes I have played the game and I liked it, but it was very familiar. That is just my opinion, if you think it is highly original that is yours, I really don't care either way. Like I said, I enjoyed the game but didn't find it to be all that original.

Just like Ridge Racer. Every Ridge Racer game plays exactly the same. Yet it's possible for a Ridge Racer game to be the best in the series, isn't it?

Actually 6 should really be counted as a new off shoot for the series in terms of playstyle. While it had the dynamics of the Type 4 breed the triple nitrous completely changed the way a race is played and the tactics used.
