So it seems like the Switch is getting a lot of physical releases for titles that no other console will have... or at least a couple. Is the Switch desirable for these downloadable games? The PS4 has been doing very well with physical releases and I'd love it if the Switch did this as well. I'd heavily consider buying the switch earlier if it starts having a large amount of physical releases for indie/download titles.

Today I picked up the Switch version of The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth+ after reading that it came with a physical manual.

Much like Shovel Knight's awesome physical releases I'm happy to see more indie developers putting care into their physical releases instead of cheapskating out like large devs and publishers (including Nintendo themselves) have been doing in recent years.

A real manual! In color!

I thought the clips in the case were just there to taunt us.

I really hope publishers get the message that if they put out a quality product people can take take pride in, it will sell. I can't imagine including a NES-style manual or packaging the game in a quality case costs much to a publisher, but it means a whole lot to the consumer.

The recent indie sensation "Stardew Valley" just received a physical "collector's edition" for both the Xbox One and PS4.

https://www.amazon.com/Stardew-Valley-C ... valley+ps4

Looks like the Publisher really put in some effort to make it a quality release too.

Includes:
+ Instructions
+ Fold Out Map
+ Soundtrack

Retail price is $29.99 which seems like a pretty sweet price point.
