Anybody have any experience with Patreon?
https://patreon.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/ar ... s-Patreon-
My friend Bill suggested it as a way to make money off the site. I love the concept!
This is what he suggested:
You tiers could be
1$-official status gaining pre release of reviews
4$-get to pick a game for you to review and give shout out
8$-early access to major game reviews and console reviews
16$-name of patron will forever be listed on web site
64$-name will appear on t-shirt being offered later this year
256$-I will personally call you and discuss video games over a virtual happy hour. You can pick my brain
This looks a little ambitious to me. I already have a full time job. But providing some behind a weekly behind-the-scenes report might be doable if enough people are interested. Maybe I could start small. I'd like to hear your thoughts and suggestions.

How about...
1000$ - VGC will come to your home and will discuss video games while giving you a foot rub.
It's just a thought..

I'll have to talk it over with the wife, but I see absolutely no reason why she would object to a strange man coming to the house to rub my feet :P

One thing to consider is, let's assume someone requests a really rare, expensive game. Will you shell out the money for this highly collectible game just because they asked you to, or will there be some rules and limitations in place to keep that from happening?

Maybe I'm wrong, but I doubt the critic will go for that. He likes to play games and review them on their intended consoles. That's why we aren't seeing any Virtual Console or Playstation Classics reviews.

He could always buy the game - review it - and then resell it, or use an everdrive if appropriate.

This had better all be a joke.
