Random Pick-ups

Postby VideoGameCritic » June 24th, 2017, 12:00 pm

With more and more retro gaming stores popping up I find myself picking up games at random. I'm often intrigued by titles I've never heard of.

Today I picked up Evolution 2 for the Dreamcast. It occurred to me that my Dreamcast collection is getting close to being complete! I'm sure I have well over 200, and there are only about 250 total.

Also picked up Danger Girl for the PS1. From the cover, it has a cool comic book vibe. I suspect it might be awful but I figure it's worth a shot.

Kind of off topic, but I am surprised from what you said. More retro stores are popping up? I was always under the impression that Amazon and Ebay were and still are king. Though the retro scene and therefore retro stores in Canada operate way differently from the states. If it isn't Nintendo it's almost nonexistent.

I see Retro stores pop up and then close. The owners come in and buy stuff cheap from the local communities and once that dries up and they have no new items coming in and they close up. I wonder why they don't scour the internet to put good games in their stores, but they don't. Instead they seem to think that the crappy selections that they have are good enough. I guess the mark-up margin isn't high enough.

Ive picked 2 consoles and about 30 random games in the past few months. I can totally relate.
