Wow surprised the Colecovision version of Pitfall 2 isn't as good as the 2600 version. But IMO PF2 was hands down one of the best 2600 games ever. It did not have the monotony and tiredness of the original game. Good reviews!

Very nice reviews! Oil's Well is a favorite of mine and I agree about Pitfall II... I find a bit more frustrating than the Atari 2600 version.

Good stuff. You're closing statement of Oil's Well is probably true, about gamers not hearing of it before. I never heard of it before this review. It sounds like a combination of Pac-Man and Qix. Fair comparison? The Pac-Man connection is probably obvious. But it sounds like Qix too, because you have to strategically decide when to cut off your progress to avoid enemies from touching your oil line.

Oil Well's a home version of the arcade game Anteater.

Oil's Well looks and sounds like it'd be a lot of fun. Does anybody know of any decent ColecoVision emulators out there? I'd love to give this game a try.

I never thought about it that way, but I think that's a pretty fair comparison!

The worst part about Pitfall2 for the Atari 2600 is not being able to duck. There's a couple parts in the game where birds and bats come at you from the right hand side of the screen, and if you're not in the exact right position as they swoop over your head, you're dead. It's not a fatal flaw and dosen't ruin my enjoyment of the the game, but it definitely makes it a lot harder than it should be.
