ZX Spectrum reviews

Postby bolton80 » August 5th, 2017, 11:48 am

I know this site is US focused (understandably, since it's a US site), but is there any interest here in some ZX Spectrum "Reader Reviews"?

Probably not. Frankly, it's weird that we even have C64 reviews. As much as I love old computers, this site's definitely about consoles.

Post'em if you got'em under Reader Reviews. This is a console site, for sure, but some of us also love 8 bit computers. I have never played a Speccy, but would enjoy some reviews.

Oh, I misunderstood and thought you were asking about posting your reviews to the site proper, like the C64 Critic. The Reader Reviews board is a perfect place for what you're talking about. I don't know how I missed this, since you literally said "Reader Reviews".

If you decide to do this, I'm curious to see what your favorite Dizzy game is. It seems like everyone has a different answer. (On the Spectrum I like III and IV, but my favorite overall is Fantastic Dizzy.)

Oh yes ! I loved the Dizzy games.
Fantasy World Dizzy was definitely my favourite.
Sure there are Dizzy games for the NES, Master System and Mega Drive. Perhaps the Critic will review one someday.

I think with the Spectrum Next (http://www.specnext.com/) coming out, The Critic almost owes it to himself to start looking at the Spectrum. That looks to be a classic game product being resurrected the exact right way.

I didn't think the Next was going to be NTSC or available in North America.

Interesting to hear. I might well post something in the "Reader Reviews" in the near future. Thanks all!

The critic did review a Dizzy game. You might not like his opinion tho: http://videogamecritic.com/mobile/nesde ... 58#rev1677

:( I can't see anything that says it will be. I sometimes forget that PAL to NTSC is actually sometimes still an issue.
