They're bringing it back for 2018. They also plan to produce the SNES Classic till 2018.

I saw that this morning. This is interesting.

It's good for people who wanted one and couldn't get it, and now maybe they will be able to get one without too much trouble. The interesting thing to me though, is that these NES classic systems seemed to be popping up a lot lately. I remember seeing a tweet from Gamestop saying they were giving away 100 NES classics in August. In August. Four months after it was discontinued. Also, there was a story a few weeks before that that thinkgeek (owned by Gamestop) was selling bundles of NES classics. It made people wonder if maybe Gamestop was holding back systems.

I also read a comment that said "negative PR goes a long way," which is likely the case. A lot of people were probably frustrated that they couldn't get one. I think Nintendo realized these were still popular, and would be very profitable.

Either way, I'm just wondering now if these will be easy to get, or sell out in five minutes.

I hope the standalone controller returns. I'd love to get a second one to go with my NES Classic Edition from last year (And so I don't have to unplug it and move it to a Wiimote every time I want to use it on my Wii/Wii U).

Too risky buying these online. The bootleggers made more of the standalone controllers than Nintendo themselves did it appears. So I'm hoping for the opportunity to buy one for $9.99 direct from a mainstream retailer or Nintendo themselves.
