Atari Jaguar Breakout 2000
Why the heck is this game so far to find? Does anyone know of some place I may find it? It is the last game I want for the Jaguar. Thanks for the help.

Wasn't this from an EGM April Fool's issue in 94 or so?
(I remember them saying that there would be Pong 2000, Breakout 2000, Combat 2000, etc. after the success of Tempest 2000.)

Atari Jaguar owner here. I own a copy of B2K and quite like it. Opinions seem to vary wildly on it: some folks love it while others loathe it. The game is essentially Breakout played from a third person viewpoint. The pace of the game is fairly mellow and laid-back - it's the kind of game I want to play when I just want to kickback and relax.
The game was on Atari's release list but never made it out the door before Atari shut-down. Telegames somehow bought up the rights to release it, and have done so in small quantities: I've read somewhere that they made 2000 copies and still have some up for sale on their web-site.
I guess they figure that serious collectors will always be willing to pay top dollar, so they charge accordingly. Price for a new copy is about $75 US from Telegames, and you will rarely see them for much less than that on eBay.
Like I wrote, I really enjoy the game, but it isn't spectacular. Unless you are serious about having a Jaguar collection, I can't really advocate spending that kind of coin on it.

Oh yeah. I remember this from the PS1. Didn't know they had it on the Jaguar.

Not the same game, the PC/PSOne release was a different title sharing the Breakout name.

there is an even harder Jaguar game to find..it's called Towers 2 (apparently there is no Towers 1) and looks like a King's Field-esque game.

Good luck finding a copy: Towers II is very rare and tends to eBay for around $150 to $175 a copy!
