Keep in mind that these grades are the opinion of one man...
a man who happens to know more about video games than anyone else in the whole wide world...

I will have to play Rayman for the Jag again to account for the disparity in grades.

Also, I will try to give the Guardian Heroes versus mode a try next time I have a bunch of guys over, and it better be good!

You grade relative to the console. Maybe the Jaguar library sucks so bad that any half-decent game will seem like an 'A' compared to the others.

That might account for one letter difference, but not three!
The VGC might have some 'splainin' to do.

The best version of a great platformer, Rayman, get's a D?
I've been a long time fan of the game critic, even though I never bother to chat in the forums. Today I break my silence. I still like you game critic, but not as much as I did before. Rayman getting a D is blasphemy! It's absolutely outrageous! What were you smoking when you reviewed that for crying out loud!

Reason for Rayman grade difference.

Saturn grade D

The game is better on Atari system +1 grade

I like Atari                                            +1 grade

The game is one of the better games on the Jaguar system +1 grade

Jaguar grade A

I LOVED playing the Playstation version when I was a kid. Critic, you should try that one!

I noticed that two of the games were high-ticket items, with one receiving a low score.  I imagine it has got to be frustrating making the investment for an expensive game that doesn't pan out (= good gaming experience).  Does this happen often to you or do you have a significant network of gaming friends where you can borrow a game for review purchases and not expose yourself financially in this way?

Juest curious...

The PlayStation and Saturn versions of Rayman are incredibly similar. They have slightly different level complete tunes and the Saturn version is missing a few sound effects and music tracks, but has some cool screen transition effects that the PS version lacks. Both are a massive upgrade from the Jaguar version.
