Wii games to cost $59.99?

Woah there. I just looked over at Ebgames.com in the E3 section, and I headed to the Wii games, whereupon I found that each title was listed as being $59.99 each. Is this an actual price, or just some sort of stock filler? Didn't Nintendo people say something about "game development prices being kept down" and it being "ridiculous to buy a game for more than fifty dollars"

EB Games has a long case history of jumping the gun on things, so I wouldn't worry.

I believe Nintendo said games with vary in price. Games like Mario or Zelda will got at $50, but indie games could go at some5hing like $20.

EBGames is likely just using $60 for now because both Xbox 360 and PS3 are going to have the gamnes at that price.. and they want more money.

Nintendo already said they wouldn't charge over 50$ for any of their own games.  Third party developers charging more wouldn't be a wise move on their part.

Theres no reason for wii games to cost any more than gamecube games. Here in the UK cube games still cost £40 when new, thats $75, and xbox 360 games are £50 thats nearly $100!  Thankfully you can get them a bit cheaper in online shops than highstreet shops, but as you can see it could be a lot worse for you lucky americans!

Personally I think it's ridiculous for anyone, ever, to pay more than $49.99 for ANY videogame title.  For cryin' out loud people, even those 'must have' games that come out typically fall in price within the first 3 months of their release - if we can all just decide to never pay more than $49.99 for a game, they won't even bother introducing them at more than that if all they'll do is take up shelf space until the price drops.  Let's try to stick together on this.

Yeah I always found it amusing when people were defending the NES classic range for GBA.  But over here they were still £35 ($60ish dollars).

Anyways I always buy 2nd hand.  You can get quite a few 360 titles for £15.  Play.com are also selling Amped 3 for £17.99 brand new.  The new Table Tennis game is retailing there for £26.99 too.

I guess you don't own a game cube, nintendo titles NEVER go down within even 6 months.  Try 2 years before they hit 20$.
