Playstation Dual Analog Controller Games

Postby rift1 » February 10th, 2010, 3:59 am

I'm trying to piece together a list of compatible ps1 games for their dual analog controller and flightstick.  So far I have:

Ace Combat 1-2
Bogey Dead 6
Colony Wars
Colony Wars Vengeance
Mechwarrior 2
Descent
Assault (namco museum vol. 4)
Jumping Flash 1-2 (unconfirmed)

Does anyone know of any others?

Did the PS1 Robotron game support two sticks?

I dont believe so, but there is a way to do it using old ps1 madcatz dual shocks.  They had a mode that would map the d pad to the left analog stick, and then x, o, triangle, square to the right analog stick.  This would allow you to play games like robotron 2040 as they were meant

I think Ape Escape was the first PS1 game to support both sticks. I could be wrong on that (it being the 1st, I mean) but I'm at work and don't have time to research.

Practically all of the games in my first post came out before ape escape

Ape Escape used both sticks of the Dual Shock controller, but I'm talking about the Dual Analog controller, which was the very first model with two sticks (that eventually became the dual shock) with no vibration support and with concave buttons instead of convex.  This controller was able to be set to "flight mode" where you would use both thumbs on the sticks and then your fingers on the 4 shoulder buttons, thus mimicking the Dual Analog Flightstick.

"R/C Stunt Copter" was a cool little game that used both sticks to simulate a remote control.

Ah crap, I didn't even know about that controller. Sorry for my useless post! Now I'm gonna have to read up on this dual analog thing. Just when you think you know a system...
