Game Genie Code

I'm having trouble finding a code for Dragon Warrior 2 on NES to get mega exp.. Found one but it only works on an emulator and is a 6 character code. Does anyone know how to change it to a 8 character code or have a code of there own? The code i found was NAZUGV

My Game Genie manual gives codes to start with different numbers (40, 80, etc.) of hit , strength, agility, and magic points for the different characters, but that's about it.
