Re: Modern Full Price $60 Video Games with YouTube style ads that are unskippable!

This is what happens when the price of AAA games hasn't risen from its 90s 16-bit days compared to most other forms of entertainment and the reason why game development companies continue to reach into the college graduates pool and outsourcing for cheap labor -- in addition to making them work 80 h...

Aside from resolution and a couple of minor graphical features, all versions of CTR are practically identical.

Re: Games that are perfect examples of great design?

Metroid Prime -- the same great item-based walled-off design of Super Metroid or Castlevania: SOTN but within the added complexity of a 3D world. Plus, the gradual build-up of atmosphere and mythos inspired future games such as Bioshock, Dead Space, the modern Fallout series, and Dark Souls.

Re: Should I buy an original Game Boy?

Personally, I love the green dot matrix screen. It's also the only way I've been playing the Game Boy games that are included in some Switch collection games (Castlevania, Contra, Mana).

Re: 2019/5/30: Game Boy: Super Mario Land, Duck Tales

I played Super Mario Land on the OG Game Boy, Game Boy Color, and the Game Boy Advance, and in all cases I thought the controls were very responsive. SML was both classic Super Mario Bros. and unique with elements that pioneered the gameplay variety of every Super Mario iteration ever since. I belie...

Re: Hard Pass from me on PS1 Classic

One theory is that, in order to maximize profits, Sony decided to use the smallest possible flash storage. Aside from Final Fantasy VII and Metal Gear Solid, each of the games listed on the PS1 Classic was originally released on only one disc. Referencing the PlayStation store for digitally download...

Re: This months's free PS+ games

It's September already?? It feels like we were just talking about August's games a week ago... That's a pretty nice lineup for the PS4. I almost bought Destiny 2 awhile back, but eventually decided I didn't have time for it. Activision has practically been trying to give the game away during the pa...

Re: Solo (Spoiler Alert)

The reason for the public's indifference is very simple, very obvious, and completely unrelated to the film's quality or the production history or Internet trolls or anything else that keeps getting blamed. People weren't interested in the movie's basic idea, which was to present Alden Ehrenreich a...

Re: Doom for the Switch

IMO, the drop from 60 to 30 fps in an FPS isn't a huge of an issue for me on console as it would be on PC due to the slower and more restricted aiming on an analog stick vs. that on a mouse. The bigger issue is the full retail price of a two-year old game that has already seen massive discounts -- I...
