Re: Who didn't own a NES in the 80's?

I got a 2600 from my cousins in about 86 or 87. I was 7 or 8, and friends had an NES. I still loved that 2600, even though I knew it wasn't state-of-the-art. That was my only console until I bought myself a Genesis in 1993. That Genesis is still my favorite console. I eventually bought a Retron 2 in...

Re: Free Xbox Hardware Plan?

If that is the future of video games, I'll stay in the past. And be very happy with it - I've got hundreds of carts and discs I haven't played yet. For some reason, I just keep buying more...

Re: 2018/8/20: Sega 32X: RBI Baseball '95

I can't speak to the SNES very well, other than the Ken Griffey games were fun the few times I played them. So many great choices for the Genesis. I think the World Series Baseball games are widely viewed as classics for the Genesis. My personal choice is 96, but all are good. I really love La Russa...

Re: Genesis Pirates Gold! Help!?

Boy, I could talk for hours about this game. I'll try to keep this brief to get you started... First, choose a time period of 1620 - 1660. Earlier than that, there aren't many towns to attack or land at; later than that there are very few wars making promotions hard to come by Second, be any nationa...

Re: "The Tetris Effect"

Definitely experienced this from Tetris. Staring at tile floors or ceiling tiles and seeing tetris patterns, dreaming about playing, etc. Hearing the song over and over in my head... Absolutely.

I highly respect the opinion of this reviewer, but I must say that it is not acceptable to review a game that you have not finished. If you dislike the game and choose to quit early, more power to you. I have abandoned many games that did not suit me. That being the case, however, you are not quali...

When do you use a CRT?

I'm curious where people draw the line between using a CRT or a "new" TV? If you have both, what systems do you have connected to each? Do you draw the line at a specific console generation, a media type, or simply personal preference? I haven't had space for both, so all of mine have been...

I have buddies that switch current games to inverted because they grew up first learning on GoldenEye. I play whatever way the game is set up.

So help a fella out that knows nothing about upscaling... does this thing remove the lag? Or is it visual improvement only?
