Re: 2018/12/9: Nintendo Switch: Super Mario Party

The score seems a bit low for a game you like.

Also, I thought the game sold about 2 million copies. I’d say that’s the opposite of releasing to little fanfare.

Re: New Smashing Pumpkins Record: Shiny and Oh So Bright

The only two songs that do anything for me are Marching On and Seek and You Shall Destroy. Two worthwhile songs on an eight track album makes for a pretty bad album. Honestly, he should have sat on the songs he recorded for Ogilala, which was excellent, and recorded them with the Pumpkins. Had he do...

Quick reviews of my Switch collection

I’ve been meaning to post reviews of my Switch collection for some time now, but I kept putting it off. Instead of writing a lengthy review of one game, I’ll review all of them with a sentence or two apiece. Enjoy: 1). Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Reminds me of Zelda 1. Absolute freedom, with...

Re: Hard to Buy Games at Target

I had my own headache buying games at Target, just recently: So, I typically wait until they run their annual Buy Two Get One Free sale to take the plunge into my Fall purchases. Their sale didn’t disappoint....except for one glaring omission. Why on earth does almost every Xbox/PS4 game qualify, bu...

Re: Oh good God they're making another Bubsy game!

Really, as somebody who was there for the original game, the series tends to get an unfair shake (I blame it on Internetitis, which has been unusually harsh on what would otherwise be considered average games). Bubsy 1 was no masterpiece, but it was mediocre at worst. Bubsy 1 and 2 were so-so, the J...

Re: Hard Pass from me on PS1 Classic

That doesn't inspire confidence one bit with the possible N64 classic either if true. I don’t think it’ll be an issue with N64, because anybody who knows about licensing issues and who owns what can pinpoint the library from a mile away. Out of the Question: -any WCW/WWF game. -Goldeneye -Turok -Mo...

Hard Pass from me on PS1 Classic

Maybe I'm alone, but I am profoundly disappointed with the PS1 Classic lineup! No Symphony? No Tomb Raider? No Crash? Who asked for Battle Arena Toshinden? GTA 1? Where is Legend of Dragoon? It's like 70% cult classics, which aren't bad but you don't base a Classic console off of niche titles, which...

Switch storage is a total mess

So, I read that the physical release of Starlink will require a 12GB download upon release! It’s crazy, because so many of these titles require downloads that eat up precious space on my memory card (maybe I should have sprung for the 400GB card). My question is this: what’s the point of reverting b...

Re: NES Classic best selling console

I doubt that a mini PS1 would ever happen, for one reason alone: the cost. Unlike Nintendo, Sony doesn’t have a wealth of top-tier first party titles to rely on. The best titles for the system have always been the games released by third parties, who would be entitled to a royalty. So, if you had a...

Re: Mega Man 11 destroys Mighty No. 9 on Metacritic!

Eh. I see it as apples and oranges. One game had the backing of a major studio, not to mention the license and history to draw from. The other game was crowdsourced and it simply wasn’t a very inspired game. Even Mega Man 11, based on the demo, was so-so. I would rank it as being better than 7, 10, ...
