Re: Smashing Pumpkins Season

2). His voice became very nasally around 2002. Only from 2002? The werrrrld is a vaaampiiire... I agree so much with your criticism of him as a person. He’s a total tool. I love Mellon Collie and Siamese Dream like everyone else, Gish was good, and I don’t even mind Adore and Machina but have...

Re: Smashing Pumpkins Season

Smashing Pumpkins and Pearl Jam were my two favorite bands in high school, but Billy has lost me, for a number of reasons: 1). His ego/temperament is exhausting. He comes across as this humorless control freak. 2). His voice became very nasally around 2002. 3). The disrespect he has for his fans, ot...

Re: New handheld with physical carts - Evercade

I think it’s a cool idea, and there are games I want, but—I’m getting a real FC Twin vibe from it. It looks cheap. I’ll wait to read impressions about the build quality before I make the leap.

Re: Prince of Persia (SNES)

I always felt that Konami’s version far outclassed the Sega CD version. The music is amazing, the game looks phenomenal, and the levels are so much fun to play through.

Re: Prince of Persia (SNES)

One of my all-time favorite hidden gems, and my favorite version of the game. I’ve been waiting for years for the critic to review it, as I think he’ll love it.

Re: Pearl Jam-Dance of the Clairvoyants

Agreed, Vedder couldn't sound more like David Byrne if he tried. The whole song has a pretty subdued vibe. I wonder if that's to make up for the fact that Eddie's voice is pretty much toast? Still, it's an interesting little tune, and one that makes me miss the era of singles greatly. I doubt the s...

Pearl Jam-Dance of the Clairvoyants

I’ve been a diehard fan of Pearl Jam since ‘96 and, apart from their last album Lightning Bolt (a few stellar songs and a lot of filler), I’ve been genuinely moved/impressed with their catalog. Their new song, somehow, has completely blown me away in a big way! It’s funky, catchy, and has a real 80’...

Re: The Problem with Soulslike Games.

I am a diehard fan of the trilogy, as well as Demon Souls and Bloodborne. As much as I do love the gameplay/learning curve, much of my love for the series has to do with the atmosphere. There are levels in those games that are the ultimate in survival horror, and my heart would race as I turned a ne...
