Re: Book Review: Video Games in The Netherlands

Kind of like 21st century Hobbits, but displayed in an incorrect aspect ratio.

This post was almost as funny as the VGC's review!

Re: Book Review: Video Games in The Netherlands

Thanks, Dave! It was very funny to read a piece on my book by an American reviewer! Laughed out loud when I read how the Dutch are viewed from an American perspective :). Biggest, latest news from the Dutch gaming scene: Herman Hulst, who is one of the co-founders of Guerilla Games, is now going to ...

Re: Command and Conquer Red Alert 3 (XBOX360)

Which ones did you think were the funniest? Mine was where Yoshiro says "You are made of stupid" Another is "General Krukov would be disappointed if we failed, prove, him, wrong" Well, I played it quite a while ago, so I cannot exactly remember. I liked all the scenes in which t...

Re: N64 Games That Stand The Test Of Time

I always liked Pokemon Puzzle League & I think it's still great today. I never played GoldenEye back in the days and to be honest, I find it very hard to enjoy nowadays. I have no nostalgic feelings for that game and I don't think it aged very well.

I thought this game was amazing. I actually laughed out loud at some of the cutscenes, I thought they were very well done and funny. Also, the game looks great & plays very well.

Is this game very similar to the SNES version of Dragon's Lair? It's by the same developer and I always thought the screenshots looked kind of similar.

Re: Most Terrifying Games of all time?

When I was a kid, I thought Alone in the Dark was pretty scary (I played in on PC, you reviewed it on 3DO). I also nominate Condemned, The Evil Within and Dead Space.

Re: Best retro co-op games to play with kids?

World of Illusion starring Mickey & Donald (Sega Genesis) is a wonderful for co-op games for kids. It looks nice, is easy enough and requires just enough cooperation to be fun.

Also, I agree with Bubble Bobble, available for almost any system, mentioned above.

Re: Most polarizing video games and why?

BTW, did someone already mention Zelda: Majora's Mask? Now, that truly is a polarizing video game! I had mixed feelings about the game (3DS version): the time gimmick and the way the player has to do timed stuff made it very hard, I think.
