Giana Sisters DS (Nintendo DS)

I recently managed to pick this one up for a cheap price - considering what it's going for on eBay. It's only released in Europe, but the original DS (not the 3DS) is region-free, so it's also playable on an American DS. I never played the original on the Commdore 64 (maybe the C64 Critic will revie...

You can also think of educational titles you reviewed: Compton Encyclopedia (CD-i) Letter Match (Astrocade) Also, in Silent Hill: Shattered Memories (Wii) the main guy is going back to his high school... Some other ideas for educational games: Donkey Kong Jr. Math (NES) Mario Time's Machine (NES or ...

Re: Most Disappointing Games?

Bioshock Infinite. Loved the first two Bioshocks but Infinite was such a big letdown for me. I read this a lot, I actually enjoyed it though. I enjoyed it too! I enjoyed it as much as BioShock 2. However, the first BioShock is still one of the best games ever for me - not even the sequels can match...

Re: Streets of Rage 4?

Mweh, I dunno. I was hoping for something like Streets of Rage Remake. I also don't understand: doesn't Sega has any own development studios anymore? Why outsource such a great franchise? Maybe it worked for Sonic Mania, but it didn't work too well for Sonic Boom.

Re: 2018/8/26: Playstation 2: Escape From Monkey Island, The Mummy Returns

I played the PC/Mac version of Escape From Monkey Island back in the days, but I don't recall it too well. I didn't hate it as much as you, but it wasn't as great as the original game. I thought it was just an okay game.

Re: Who didn't own a NES in the 80's?

I didn't own a NES in the (late) 80s! My first video game console was a Sega Master System, but maybe that's I'm from Europe. It had Alex the Kidd in Miracle World as built-in game. So, I have fond memories of that one. Other games that I liked were Choplifter , Double Dragon and Bubble Bobble . But...

Re: Most Disappointing Games?

Over the years, I have appreciated Streets of Rage 3 better than when I bought it, back in 1994. I was 13 then and I thought (and still think) Streets of Rage 2 is one of the best games ever made. SOR3 didn't live up to expectations that time - and therefore it was one of the most disappointing game...

VGC Recommendation: Super Mario Bros. Deluxe (Game Boy Color)

I was replaying Super Mario Bros. Deluxe on the Game Boy Color (also in 3DS eShop) and I consider this version the best edition of the original Super Mario Bros. The controls seem a little tighter than the original NES version and sometimes it's possbile to scroll the screen a little backwards. Of c...

WarioWare Gold (3DS)

Has anyone else played this yet? It was released earlier in Europe, so have enjoyed it for a while. It is pretty fun - like all WarioWare games before - but it seems a lot easier to me. Maybe that's because a lot of the previous mini-games are reused and I unconsciously remember what to do. Anyway, ...
