Re: What's your favorite game in your least favorite genre?

I really don't like (serious) racing games, except for Virtua Racing... or is that not considered a serious racing game?

Re: Console Design Blunders

Nice article. But on my CD-i the front port works fine as a player one controller port, so I don't really get that complaint. Also, the GameCube had no DVD player (like the Dreamcast) and some say it also lost market share to the PS2 because of that. To the Xbox 360 'Ring of Death' failure I'd like ...

Re: 2020/3/3: Super Nintendo: Jim Power: The Lost Dimension in 3D, Street Racer

I really like the visual appeal of Jim Power, but what keeps me playing - despite all the shortcomings you mentioned - is the fantastic soundtrack! I think the music is really good, missed that in your review :) On Street Racer, I played the Sega Saturn version a lot back in the days - well, not the...

Nice reviews, but I don't really agree. I thought both games were fairly decent.

Re: Streets of Rage 4 is Coming

I really want to get enthusiastic about SOR4, but I'm not too excited when watching preview gameplay video's. I'm not a fan of the new art style, but okay, I can live with that choice. However, the game seems kind of... bland in those preview trailers. It looks a little bit like an advanced Flash ga...

Re: Console Design Blunders

Intellivision control "phones" wires - could they make these any shorter? You practically need to keep the console on your lap to play it! PS4 "sliver" buttons - too skinny to read the symbols; nobody knows what they do. Tapping one is different from holding it in for 5.24 secon...

Re: Video Games that have stuck with you through time/are important to you

Raised in the late 80s-90s, so: Bubble Bobble (Master System), Sonic 1-2-3 (Sega MegaDrive), Streets of Rage 2 (MegaDrive). Also, probably the first game I played: Crystal Quest (on an Apple Macintosh). Also on the Macintosh: SimCity 2000 , Firefall Arcade (an excellent Mac-only Centipede clone) and...

Re: AVGN Reasons Blu Ray Sucks

I'm especially frustrated my VHS tapes don't fit in my Blu-ray player.

Re: Book Review: Video Games in The Netherlands

For those interested, I wrote another little book (again, only in Dutch), called Guerrilla Games - een kleine geschiedenis van de grootste gameontwikkelaar uit Nederland. (translated: Guerrilla Games - a short history of the largest game developer of the Netherlands ). You can order it here: https:/...

Re: Anybody excited for VR?

Not really. The first time I played a VR game was somewhere in the 90s, I think on an arcade machine by Virtuality. Though technical impressive for its time, I remember I found it very tiring rapidly. The second time I played VR was on a tech show, where there were HTC Vive VR-headsets on show. I fi...
