Re: AVGN Reasons Blu Ray Sucks

I'm especially frustrated my VHS tapes don't fit in my Blu-ray player.

Re: Book Review: Video Games in The Netherlands

For those interested, I wrote another little book (again, only in Dutch), called Guerrilla Games - een kleine geschiedenis van de grootste gameontwikkelaar uit Nederland. (translated: Guerrilla Games - a short history of the largest game developer of the Netherlands ). You can order it here: https:/...

Re: Anybody excited for VR?

Not really. The first time I played a VR game was somewhere in the 90s, I think on an arcade machine by Virtuality. Though technical impressive for its time, I remember I found it very tiring rapidly. The second time I played VR was on a tech show, where there were HTC Vive VR-headsets on show. I fi...

Re: Console Design Blunders

Someone mentioned it before, but the Virtual Boy must be one of the worst game consoles design ever. ("A pair of goggles on a stick", as the Angry Game Nerd but put). The lack of a head strap is just silly.

Re: Console Future Values

I own a Sega Multi-Mega (EU version of the console that's known as the Sega-CDX is the USA), that's quite valuable. (Unfortunately, the disc-reader of my unit is broken, so I can't use it to play Sega CD games).

Re: Console Design Blunders

Some ideas: * The original Game Boy Advance - for NOT having a backlight screen. The GBA SP is so much brighter... * The original Sega Genesis controller, not because it's bad, but because it lacks six-buttons... * The original Xbox 360 for the Red Ring of Death, we almost all had (but I have to say...

Re: Great Moments in Video Game History

I love two moment in BioShock 1: 1) when you enter Rapture in the submarine-elevator like thing (while Andrew Ryan says "Welcome to Rapture!" and all that speech) and 2) the first you encounter a Big Daddy in that game.

Re: What was the challenge you just couldn't beat, no matter how hard you tried?

I couldn't beat the final boss in Donkey Kong Country 3D on 3DS. Yes, the AI can do it for you, but that didn't feel right. Countless tries, but I couldn't do it myself. Also, the final boss on Rodea: The Sky Soldier on Wii (not Wii U, the Wii version is actually pretty great). But the final boss is...

Re: New Game Boy Review Trio

Super Mario Land 2 (which is great)
Tetris 2 (which is awful)
Kirby's Dream Land (which is okay)

Re: 2020/1/18: Colecovision: Evolution, Antarctic Adventure

Antarctic Adventure is probably one of the first games I ever played - on a MSX, not on the ColecoVision. I always thought it looked amazing for its time. Can't really remember how it played though.
