Re: Console Designs: PS5 Vs. Xbox Series X

It downloads the entire game from the internet and the disc is only used as a verification that you actually own it. Each game has been recompiled to run on Xbox One hardware. There’s no hardware based backwards compatibility, or even emulation based backwards compatibility. Of course someday someon...

Re: Console Designs: PS5 Vs. Xbox Series X

The 360 backwards compatibility is pretty good, but they only have a handful of Xbox games(23?) that work. It’s mind boggling to me they could write an emulator for Xbox -> 360 but not Xbox -> Xbox One. Then again bleem could get PS1 games to work on my Pentium II but Sony dropped PS1 support. Both ...

Re: Dreamcast Light Gun Issues

I have two light guns and I’ve noticed the MadCatz has always been less accurate than the Interact brand. That said my big CRT TV has a lower left hand corner dead zone where my Genesis light guns can’t register either. I would doubt any interference in the room would be to blame given how light gun...

Re: Batman: Arkham Asylum, PS3

I loved Arkham Asylum as well. You're definitely right about the size. I really didn't like the larger open world of Arkham City. Making me traverse long distances between interesting things does not make a game more fun for me generally.

Re: Most Worthless Console You have Ever Owned?

My Wonderswan is pretty much worthless. I knew that when I bought though. It was really just more of a novelty. The library is entirely Japanese so most of its games would be unplayable for me anyway. I only have Guilty Gear Petit which I didn't find to be really all that good even by the standards ...

Re: The Best Console.

But if you're counting backwards compatibility, then nothing can beat the PS3. My 20GB PS3 can play (nearly)all PS1, PS2 AND PS3 games.

Resident Evil - Gamecube

Just finished Resident Evil for the 'cube. I thought this was going to be the best one yet, but found I had surprisingly mixed feelings about it. On the one hand it looks great. The graphics are obviously a thousand times better than the PlayStation. On the other hand, does it actually play better? ...

Re: 360 Alan Wake

I loooove Alan Wake. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did. One of my favorite 360 games. It's not hard to dodge those guys once you get used to it, but man they can make you jump when they sneak up on you.

Re: Xbox One S Launch

The Xbox One S looks like a pretty bad deal to me. The Scorpio is only a year away so why pay a premium price for old tech? A 500 GB Xbox One is going for 246 bucks with a game on Amazon right now. I believe the Xbox supports external hard drives so the extra storage isn't that great a deal. If you ...
