Re: Should I buy an original Game Boy?

I like the idea of you getting a handheld Game Boy, because I feel like playing it with the GB Player on a TV screen isn't a fully authentic experience. It's fine for gaming, but gets a little dicier when using it for reviews. You're using a different controller and much larger screen than originall...

Re: Merge Game Boy Reviews?

The GBC is often considered part of the original Game Boy line, so I think it's perfectly fine to group the two together if you prefer. Plus, some games could work on both systems, but had color features if used with the GBC - so that makes it harder to decide what category to put it in if the two a...

Re: 2019/6/18: Nintendo Switch: Sonic Team Racing

Sega has basically sucked since they left the hardware business. Remember all those fun Dreamcast games? After that nothing. Maybe Sega thought it was going to be easy just making software, pumping out remixed versions of games like Sonic Adventure and Crazy Taxi. They got lazy. What new Sega prope...

Re: Should Yooka-Laylee have the controversial icon or no?

I could go either way on this one - but, after seeing the other games that have received the "Controversial" icon (63 in total), I think this minor controversy with Yooka-Laylee is still notable enough to be lumped in with those other games. Borderline call that could go either way, depend...

Thanks for the heads up.. I was reading the preview and it sounded really interesting, getting an inside look at the industry. I just bought the print version of the book.

Re: The history channel video games!

Big thanks for the heads up! I’m always interested in checking out new gaming documentaries.

I looked into the details. For those interested, it airs on the History Channel on Sunday night (June 16) at 9:00 pm ET, with a repeat showing at midnight. It is 2 hours long.

Re: What is your fave Bond game 360?

Activision took over the license during the 360 era, and supposedly the quality went way down. You might have trouble finding one that stacks up to the N64/PS2 games. You can see here how bad the average review scores were: https://www.gamerankings.com/search.html?site=xbox360&search=007 For com...

Re: What to buy?

The Saturn unlocker is a niche item so I'd usually point to something else on that list.. but after hearing all the reasons you've said, it seems like the way for you to go for sure. Panzer Dragoon Saga is my all-time favorite JRPG - and I've played my fair share - so I think that's a very good reas...

Re: 2019/6/12: Xbox: Aquaman

Very interesting re-review. With this D score, Critic, you may have just become the biggest fan of Xbox Aquaman in the world. I know nothing about the game itself - I've never played it. But I do know it has been beaten and battered for 15 years now by critics and gamers, appearing alongside the lik...

Re: Anyone else totally underwhelmed by Cuphead?

I feel like this about a lot of games now. I think, ‘am I missing something?’, and ‘why did this get such good reviews’. Maybe it is just my age (42). My Switch is filled with older games and remasters. I don’t want to sound like a grumpy old smeg though. Pretty much exactly where I am and what I a...
