Re: 2019/2/13: Atari 2600: Battlezone, Enduro

Last night I was playing one of my favorite 2600 games, Pressure Cooker, so I decided to give Enduro a try too while I was at it. (I've had Enduro for probably 10+ years, but didn't consider playing it until I read your review.) Pretty cool little game to play for a few rounds, but it didn't hold my...

Re: New List - Best Music?

Easy choice for my favorite: Castlevania: Symphony of the Night is the best game soundtrack I’ve ever experienced. Not just the instrumental tracks, but don’t forget “I am the Wind” which is a great song sung during the closing credits. Speaking of actual songs with lyrics written for a game, “Snake...

Re: Help! Game room ideas?

Since this old topic of mine is still hanging around, I figured I'd post an update to show another element I incorporated into my game room when I finished it a couple years ago. I call this the "Nintendo vs. Sega wall". My intention was to pit Nintendo and Sega side-by-side, invoking the ...

Re: Help! Game room ideas?

Above all, we played on a CRT, and while the Framemeister gets an "A" for effort, nothing quite brings me back like a good old-fashioned CRT. I'm with you, Herschie. It feels a little unnatural playing old games on an HDTV. I'm fortunate to have an CRT HDTV, which gives the benefits of a ...

Rollergames (NES) - Roller Derby + Double Dragon?

What do you get when you mix roller derby, platforming, and Double Dragon? How about Rollergames for the NES... This is a unique little game from Konami that I played last night. Apparently it's based on a TV show of the same name that aired from 1989-1990, when roller derby was making a comeback. T...

Re: 2018/11/13: NES: Silk Worm, Bram Stoker's Dracula

Let's hear your feedback about my latest NES reviews for Silk Worm and Bram Stoker's Dracula. Never heard of Silk Worm, but I appreciate the review. You make it sound so good that I went ahead and bought a copy. Took me a few months, but I finally got around to playing Silk Worm. I played a few lev...

Re: Crown Jewel of your collection?

That’s brilliant I’ve played quite a bit of OdySim but would love to have a go on the real thing. Correct me if I’m wrong but the biggest barriers to the Odyssey is a bulk of its library are board game hybrids and there are no single player games. Also check out the author from OdySim he has links ...

Re: All the way through?

I just beat Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete for Playstation. This was such a brilliant, beautiful, game! I'm gonna miss playing this one. I’ve just purchased a Saturn Video CD card and this is the only game that must use it. Would it be playable in Japanese (with a guide) ? I played Lunar: Silver...

Re: What’s the definitive Tetris game?

If you're willing to go modern, pick up Tetris Effect for PS4, which just came out last year. I haven't played it yet, but it is getting absolute rave reviews -- averaging over 90%. And it works with or without PS VR. All the reviews seem to indicate it's the best Tetris game in years and years -- k...

Re: Dragon Rage (PS2)

I can see what you mean about the controls -- it looks really difficult to steer accurately, especially when trying to fly toward an enemy. Pretty gruesome when you maul a person or sheep though...
