Re: Game of the Year 2018?

Re: Fortnite, do people actually pay real money for cosmetic upgrades? I guess I’m just old....I don’t understand. I have never paid a dime on Fortnite upgrades. However, there are special costumes for your character which cost like $15 each. That's too steep for me, but many people consider it a m...

Re: Game of the Year 2018?

Fortnite . I've seen a couple gaming sites give the award to Fortnite, and after reflection, I agree 100%. Yes, RDR2 would be an easy choice, because it's a huge, expertly-crafted game. Fortnite is much simpler and straightforward, but that's not always a bad thing. There is a reason this game has ...

Re: Space Pirate Trainer (PS VR) & PSVR System

My non-gamer wife tried out the VR this weekend. She played Virry Safari, Space Pirate Trainer, and The Playroom VR. (By the way, if you have PS VR, be sure to download The Playroom VR . It's a free collection of mini-games that can be played in multiplayer [i.e., one person uses the headset, and 1 ...

Re: Horizon: Zero Dawn

Glad to hear it's that good. I just picked this one up on sale during Black Friday. It's pretty cheap and easy to find right now - about $10 to $15. I'm looking forward to starting it sometime within the next couple months maybe. Hopefully it doesn't fall too far behind in my backlog. Sounds like wi...

Re: "Celeste" is the current game that is filling the void that Axiom Verge left with me...

For those interested in physical media, Limited Run Games just announced that they’ll be releasing Celeste on PS4 and Switch on January 1. Wish I knew that before I just bought the download on PS4! But, on the bright side, the download was on sale for $13, whereas the physical release will be at lea...

Re: Records vs. CDs vs. digital music

To echo bluenote's point, most people make the mistake of assuming that all vinyl sounds better than CDs, but it actually depends on how it is recorded. If you buy a new vinyl album, chances are it won't sound any better than a CD, because they're both recorded digitally. To illustrate that, I once ...

Thanks for the heads up. I've been planning to get Celeste on the PS4, but I always wait for downloadable games to go on sale, which Sony does pretty often. Hasn't happened yet for Celeste, though. I'm also looking forward to downloading Iconoclasts, which looks like it's pretty similar to Celeste. ...

Re: 2018/12/2: Saturn: Game Tengoku: The Game Paradise (Japan)

Always appreciate a new Saturn review. Never heard of this game before, but it sounds really interesting. Love the premise, being a game about games. I wish it wasn't so pricey on ebay, or I'd probably pick it up.

Re: Space Pirate Trainer (PS VR) & PSVR System

Btw, I also recommend looking into Virry Safari: Wild Encounters for very young kids that can't really use VR, or showing off VR to adults with no interest in games. It's a nature demo, where you get up close and personal with African animals in their natural state. Be warned -- this is not a game a...
