Re: I'm SCARTing!

Not too long ago, I came across a video on YouTube about how to make your consoles look their absolute best on your TV. I had heard about SCART here and there, but never really paid much attention. Sounded like you needed a mod, and I didn't want to deal with it. So I suffered with composite for th...

Re: Super Nintendo Classic Edition Review

With all due respect critic, I really can't see how anyone would expect to have physical manuals with this system. You had the same complaint with the NES classic. The point of these systems is to be plug and play and have a couple of dozen games on one device. Nice and easy. I really wouldn't expec...

Re: Best Time of the Year for Gaming?

I'm starting to think Fall is the best time of year for gaming, and here are some reasons: - colder and darker = less guilty about staying indoors - a lot of sports starting up, great if you enjoy sports games - plenty of holidays so you can take some time off to play - most of the new games come o...

Re: US Open Tennis Controversy

I'm a HUGE tennis fan (watch and play) but the women's final of the US Open really bummed me out. I felt like Serena Williams was really a bad sport the way she broke her racket and then berated the ref. It paved the way to her defeat, but frankly it looked like she was going to lose anyway. Poor N...

Video Game Culture in the NHL

Here's an interesting article on how popular video gaming is with younger NHL hockey players: https://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/nhlers-weigh-video-game-culture-fortnite-rage/ The article is showing how much video gaming is the main off ice obsession with players, and has replaced playing cards or ...

Re: Who didn't own a NES in the 80's?

My older brother had a 2600 and in '86, he bought me a Master System for Christmas. This was my first console just for me. I really enjoyed it and I still have it to this day. All my friends had a NES, except I had 1 friend who also had a master system and we would trade games and play it together. ...

Re: Gaming Days probably coming to almost an end.

Interesting perspectives in this thread. I'm 43, married with 2 kids. I still game, but only a few hours per week. I know some people mentioned that they feel they are wasting their time, but I don't see it any different than watching tv. Sometime you just want to veg out on the couch watching tv or...

You can tell the people running GameStop are not gamers.

They are gamers, they''re just not collectors

Re: GameStop selling comics...

This is probably smart. Even if video games are more mainstream and popular, I often notice that mom & pop stores for comic books, cards, and collectibles (without video games) seem to survive longer than similar stores that just focus on video games. So there's probably something to that, and ...

Re: GameStop selling comics...

I don't understand why their game inventory is so small? I mean, the 3DS has hundreds of physical games available, yet I usually only see around 50 in any given store (I'm in Canada, so it's EB games here). Same with Switch, maybe 15 or 20 are in any given store, yet there's easily more than 100 ava...
