Closing Games before switching?

I had gotten into the habit of "closing" game software before swapping games in my Switch, if only because the system complains when I don't. It's kind of a pain in the ass, because navigating the Switch's user interface isn't the most user friendly experience. My PS4 and Xbox One also wan...

Dead Rising 4 (Xbox One)

Whoever recommended this as a Christmas game - thanks! I knew I was in the right place when I saw that Christmas tree on the title screen! Plus snow! The game won me over right away. A lot of humor and the gore is right on point. After playing Read Dead Redemption for so long, it's cool to pick up s...

No, I think they got past the uncanny valley with this one. The characters look amazing.

Game of the Year 2018?

My choice for Game of the Year 2018 has to go to Axiom Verge (Switch). This Metroid clone had me riveted from beginning to end, with ingenious gameplay (cause glitches on purpose!), gorgeously pixelated 2D visuals, and an outstanding soundtrack.

What are your picks?

Re: Altered Beast (2005) - PS2

That's for taking the time to write this. I didn't even know it existed.
Now I want to track down a copy, if only out of curiosity.

Re: Records vs. CDs vs. digital music

I agree about missing the music stores. I remember I would learn about what the best new stuff was just by talking to the people who work there! Kind of like going to the video rental store - you saw a whole wall dedicated to one movie and it got you excited! I was watching Jackie Brown recently and...

New Smashing Pumpkins Record: Shiny and Oh So Bright

The Pumpkins are one of my all-time favorites and I was looking forward to their new album which reconstituted 3/4 of the original lineup (minus D'arcy Wreztky on bass). I've listened to it twice and it's just not doing it for me. The opening try has a wah-wah sounds that's kind of annoying. The sin...
