If you're going to take that route (which seems to make the mention of pencil-and-paper games at all redundant, honestly), I'd expect you to have a bigger problem with the word "perhaps".

Final Fantasy wasn't really inspired by tabletop games; it was a response to the original Dragon Quest, released a year earlier. Both built on early-'80s American computer RPGs like Ultima and Wizardry, which were very popular in Japan.

Oh, if it were up to me, it would go in the '90s section. And the Genesis and Turbografx-16 would be under the '80s. I'm just saying that there's at least a rationale behind that one.

I understand putting the Dreamcast under the "2000s" menu because it competed with the PS2; I don't understand putting the four systems released this decade there too. I guess the Wii U didn't merit a whole new drop-down when it came out, but there should have beeen a "2010s" men...
