The C64 only has 16 colors to work with. Anything involving a desert is going to look pretty similar.

Re: 2019/11/6: 3DO: Hell: A Cyberpunk Thriller

William Gibson is the Godfather of the genre. Let's ask him what he thought of the movie. Good to know that it inspired cyberpunk's visual tropes, which is literally the first thing that I posted here. I'm not sure that you actually followed me. Of course cyberpunk is anti-establishment. But if bei...

Re: 2019/11/6: 3DO: Hell: A Cyberpunk Thriller

That's a fair point, but isn't computer technology what makes those androids possible? And you can't get the clear multimedia experience of those cities without some computers behind the scenes. Anything with a screen or a robot (which the Replicants aren't anyway) is cyberpunk now? I didn't bring ...

Re: 2019/11/6: 3DO: Hell: A Cyberpunk Thriller

I'd count it. "Cyber-" is more than just cyborg enhancement and the internet. That standard would include most science fiction and a lot more. If Blade Runner is cyberpunk because it involves "communication and control processes", why wouldn't Star Wars be cyberpunk? Heck, why n...

Re: Lord of the Rings Extended vs Theatrical?

Neither. The version to watch is the unfinished Ralph Bakshi cartoon from 1978. (I'm not even entirely kidding here. The Peter Jackson movies are obviously much better films, but they have none of the book's murky mystery, its poetry and myth. Everything is very clear-cut, open, and objective, while...

Miraculously, he got a life. It's very inspiring, even if it means that Platform Masters is vaporware now.

I just played and beat an Ocean game that was pretty fun, actually -- Navy SEALs for Game Boy.

Not to mention that Ocean had a decent track record on the C64, including the bizarre masterpiece Wizball.

Re: N64 Games That Stand The Test Of Time

I did like X's soundtrack and edgy comic book illustrations. Not that I hate the game (not at all!) but I just think GX blows it out of the water in every single way. Seems like an unpopular opinion on this site, but I assure you there are plenty of losers like me out there that think GX is one of ...
