Re: Scaled down arcade cabinets

A few different companies have tried mini arcade cabinets like these over the past 10 years or so, and Arcade1up is the closest any company has come to doing it right. But personally I'm still not sold. I haven't seen these in person, but I can't imagine that 3/4 replica of an arcade machine, made ...

Re: Atari release board pictures and new streaming service!!

Still not sold on Atari VCS, but it nice that something new has been announced despite the radio silence before it launch in 2 month! Nintendo. It is radio silence and then something turns up. The product works. Nu Atari. 3 years late and no working prototype. Not games announced for the new consol...

Re: 2019/9/20: Jaguar: JagZombies (CD), Saucer Wars (CD)

I feel like we have still never seen what the Jaguar could really do in terms of technology. The hardware was actually decent. I'd love to see a port of Quake or Duke 3D running on it or maybe a good sports game.

Re: About the Astrocade...

If I could go back in time I'd love to browse around those old departments stores like Montgomery Ward and peruse the latest in "high tech" merchandise. I'd probably go on a shopping spree. There are sites online where you can view/virtually flip through the old Sears Wishbook and Radio S...

Re: What was your best goodwill video game find?

A few reasonably good finds I had within the past few months at my local Goodwill: A slim PS2 (picked up as a spare unit) w/two controllers and all connections: $25 Xbox 360 White w/hard drive (for one of my kids) w/two controllers and all connections: $40 Complete Wii w/two controllers and connecti...

Re: Atari 2600 Remote Control Joysticks

The really sad thing is that Atari came up a pair of supposedly fantastic wireless controllers which they were planning to release with the original successor to the 2600 - the Atari 2700. The controllers looked like a cross between a 5200 and a 7800 controller (or maybe more like the Sears Telegame...

Re: Aladdin (Genesis)

Aladdin on the Genesis is indeed a showcase title and proof that in the right hands, the Gen version of a game can be better than the SNES counterpart. It doesn't follow the movie nearly as well as the Gamegear version but I think it's a more personable and fun experience.

Re: 3DO games not reviewed yet by the VGC

I know Zhadnost is not going to be everyone's cup of tea but I thought it was pretty entertaining but of course that could just be nostalgia talking. The "actors" (term used very loosely) is what made the game great.

Re: Will you miss Game Stop

Related to a degree... In 1996 I asked for a new 3DO FZ-10 which was on clearance at Saturday Matinee (another defunct retail chain) for my birthday. Unfortunately, when I got the system, I did not have any games to go along with it except for the pack-in Gex. I searched online (relative internet in...

Re: Nostalgic and/or Favorite Video Game Mags

For me, it was Electronic Gaming Monthly. My cousin and I always used to go to B. Dalton or Waldenbooks in the local mall and pick up the newest issue whenever it was released. It was awesome looking over the reviews and previews of upcoming games (and drooling over pics of Neo Geo and 3DO systems w...
