Re: 2019/5/18: NES: Barker Bill's Trick Shooting, Desert Commander

Hey Dave, Have you ever considered adding the genre of the game to the review under the publisher and also having it as a searchable field? For example, I could see it looking something like this: Desert Commander Publisher: Kemco (1989) Genre: Turn-based Strategy Reviewed: 2019/05/19 Having it sear...

Re: Saturn Virtua Fighter?

I feel like I need to review these games because of their place in history. I vaguely recall Saturn fans being really unhappy with the early version of this game, especially when the system was going up against the PS1. I'd be interested in how it rates against the 32X version as well (which is pre...

Re: Talespin (Turbografx)

The TG-16 version of Talespin is usually seen as the best one. The show was pretty good also.

Re: 2019/4/20: Nintendo Switch: Hollow Knight

Great review (as always). One small thing - at the bottom of the review where you put links to the game on the various other sites (e.g. eBay, Amazon, etc...) it says "Find X-Box Live Points at..."

Not sure if that is intentional or not.

Re: Beats of Rage?

Sounds a little like Mugen. Isn't this the engine that was used to create the unofficial Dreamcast Double Dragon port?

Re: Gamestop posts massive losses

You have to go back a number of years to see how the industry changed. In the 1990's, there were a number of videogame-centric chains like Electronics Boutique, Babbages, Funcoland, etc... This doesn't include secondary retail game outlets like Toys R Us, K-B Toys, and others that sold games alongsi...

Re: Google Stadia aka the most anti Video Game Critic console ever!

This feels like an Ouya in the making. Now don't get me wrong, I like the Ouya and actually still play mine from time to time but the "AAA" titles never materialized and all the system got was ports of mostly 8 and 16-bit independent titles. I am assuming this is going to work through some...

Re: 2019/3/18: Sega Master System: Flash, The (Europe)

If you are going to start picking up and reviewing European Master System games, you are in for a treat. Some of them (e.g. Road Rash) really showcase just how good the system is.

Re: Double Dragon 2600 vs 7800

It's interesting that the handheld versions of Double Dragon (Gameboy, Atari Lynx and later Gameboy Advance) are the best ones out there. Glad you omitted the Game Gear version which was terrible. Yeah. That one was pretty bad for sure. And worst of all, it dosen't even feel like a Double Dragon ga...

Re: Crown Jewel of your collection?

For consoles, I'll go with:
Boxed Turbo Duo and Turbo Express
Boxed Original front-loader Sega CD and Sega CDX
Boxed brand new Amiga CD32 (never used)

For games a few are:
Several games made by Bomb for the 2600 (fairly rare)
Street Fighter 2 (Sega Master System)
