Re: What was the challenge you just couldn't beat, no matter how hard you tried?

I tried Dark Souls 3, and honestly really liked it at first, including the challenge. But then I spent six hours retrying the Abyss Watchers fight. SIX hours repeating the same 5 to 10 minutes, over and over again. I then started thinking about how this was early in the game, so it was only going t...

Re: Unpopular Gaming Opinions

I actually enjoy rubberband AI in racing games. It keeps me engaged in the game. If I get too much of a lead, there's no challenge. If I mess up and crash, I want to still have a chance to comeback. On a different note, I really don't care whatsoever for character customization. It's like going to a...

Re: Best Game--Every Decade

Cool idea, but a tough one to decide. Honestly, my opinions on this might change based on my mood on any given day. 70s - probably Galaxian 80s - Mario 3. That one really wrapped up the decade nicely 90s - Mario 64. This was just such a game changer and really showed that 3D gaming was the future 00...

Re: Your favorite Board Games

I love a good game of chess. The challenge is always finding someone at a similar skill level, because those are the best games. I also like playing some Dominoes. Luck is a huge factor in dominoes, so it's a fun one to play when you don't want to get too serious. With friends, we play a lot of Tick...

Re: Your favorite pinball games

I had a pinball machine in my basement growing up. Unfortunately, somehow the main circuit board up by the scores went mysteriously missing and it no longer works. The game was called The Flash, but it was based on some original ideas rather than the comic book hero. It was a Williams table, and wa...

Re: 2019/10/29: Nintendo Switch: Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon, Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night

Great reviews! I played Curse of the Moon on the 3DS, and it was a nice treat. It reminded me of how much I really like the "Classicvania" style of gameplay. I liked how it went all in with the NES aesthetic, but clearly could never be done on an NES. Unfortunately, my experience with Ritu...

Killer Queen Black (Switch & PC)

Killer Queen Black is a console adaptation to apparently a modern arcade cabinet hit, Killer Queen. I honestly had never heard of it before this weekend, but I saw some review of the Switch game and it immediately grabbed me. First things first: This is an online only game, similar to something like...

Re: Looks like the Switch port of Samurai Shodown is going to be a fantastic port.

I honestly got back into fighting games recently, and that includes playing some older classics like Samurai Shodown 2. I watched a bit of the Evo Championships for this new Samurai Shodown, and honestly it looks pretty awesome. The combat really looks like it's inspired by the older games for sure....
