Re: PS3 Eulogy

I remember when I got my first PS3. My friend Scott found it in a store and called to ask if I wanted it and I said yeah. I think it was $600. That thing was a beast - a cross between Dark Vader and a baby grand piano. So many cool ports on that thing, 90% of which I never used. Of course, the game...

Re: PS3 Eulogy

Never fun when a much used, loved piece of hardware passes. At least the PS3 is able to be augmented with other systems (PSX, PS2, etc.); the same cannot be said for other systems that die off, such as the Jaguar CD, Amiga CD32, Sega CD, etc...

Re: Secret of Mana (SNES)

So now I'm grinding a bit and trying to see if I can buy some items that will toughen me up. Right now the werewolves just slice right thru me. I really want to break out my Switch and play this now... Especially since the 3D remake of Trials of Mana is due next month, and I'd rather play both Secr...

Re: Can't beat classic hockey

No love for Blades of Steel on the nes? That game is still a lot of fun to play! I also really like Hat Trick in the arcades. The 7800 port of it sucked though. I even think Ice Hockey for the 2600 still holds up. DOH! Forgot about Blades of Steel... One of the few sports games on the Game Boy (ori...

Re: Can't beat classic hockey

I have never been a huge fan of hockey (I'm from Georgia), though I did enjoy the NHL94 games on Genesis and Sega CD. There was one arcade-style one I played on the N64 (no clue what it was, it has been WAAAY too long) that I thoroughly enjoyed, though it has to be really fun to get me to sit and pl...

Re: Secret of Mana (SNES)

Ah, the classic Blind Play trap... Breath of Fire II had the Bridge at the very beginning where you could suddenly find yourself fighting foes 10+ levels above what you are already fighting, and Golden Sun didn't stop you from going straight to Imil once you got Ivan, which could easily result in a ...

Re: 2020/3/15: Playstation 4: Onrush, Shaq-Fu: A Legend Reborn

Was amused that Shaq-Fu was brought back, though after trying the Bubsy remake on Switch, I'll hold off on classic "Infamous" games being brought back for modern systems... Still, there ARE worse games than Shaq-Fu and Bubsy. Hello Heavy Nova, haven't played you in a while to remind me why...

Re: Secret of Mana (SNES)

I never played any Mana game other than Final Fantasy Adventure; I did pick up the Switch version of Collection of Mana, and need to give it a go.

Re: 2019/3/20: Nintendo 64: Super Mario 64, Namco Museum 64

SM64 is still one of my favorite N64 games, and one that I feel isn't as dated as most of the early 3D games (Zelda OoT).
