Re: Memories of Killer Instinct

I used to have the Game Boy version of Killer Instinct and even with the system limitations it is surprisingly a very good port, the gameplay is fast and the characters are big on the tiny screen, it's a much better fight game than either Mortal Kombat or Street Fighter ports on the Game Boy. KI Ga...

Re: Memories of Killer Instinct

K-k-k-k-kombo Breaaaakerrr!!! Uuullllltttrraaaa KKKooommmmbbboooo!!! I always preferred KI Gold on the N64 to any version, even over the two arcade games. Other than the Game Boy KI1, I never got into the original KI. I do recall seeing a KI2 machine at a restaurant in the mid-90s, and playing for a...

Re: The lame excuse as why EA is not bringing many of its games on Switch!

Well I have played Anthem and you know you are lucky they are not bringing games out on the Switch. Thank god as that game is an insult to BioWare legacy and is likely the game that kills the studio game given they are on it last legs. I want to day I heard the same thing about Bioware after EA bou...

Re: THQ Rises from the grave!

Cost being the big issue. RPGs consume lots of dats for dialog alone, and even in the SNES days the character limits were being felt (especially outside of Japan, see Chrono Trigger). Cart memory prices were not as attractive as CD prices, and you got more storage per dollar. Another lost N64 RPG, M...

Re: THQ Rises from the grave!

Speaking of Quest64, enjoy: https://youtu.be/TdCLxQAEi3c One thing for sure the N64 is not a JRPG console and not hard to see why. It could do JRPGs, the issue was the trend towards FMVs and voice acting (the TurboCD being the first, then PSX just before N64). Also, the N64 was optimized for 3D, no...

Re: THQ Rises from the grave!

Quest 64 by THQ for the N64 was an RPG that I was really stoked about, and boy oh boy was it a stinker. I kept trying to like it but never happened. For some reason every time I see THQ I think of that crummy game. Actually, Quest 64 is Imagineer iP that THQ published, but given that Imagineer is s...

Re: The lame excuse as why EA is not bringing many of its games on Switch!

Hey, if people will pay, then I can't fault EA.

I remember back when Elder Scrolls IV came out on the 360 and it was a big deal that anyone would pay whatever it cost for the horse saddle update. Look at how DLC alone has become the norm and people will pay $20+ for costume packs for an RPG...

Re: The lame excuse as why EA is not bringing many of its games on Switch!

Keeping in mind that people PAY those fees to play or use the content. I have relatives that buy Madden each year just for get togethers n to entertain clients. Remember, as long as people will pay for a service, someone can make money on it. There is a reason that Wayforward, known for great origin...
