Re: Vinyl or Digital?

One odd thing is that despite having only five songs, they split them between the sides - 3 on side 1, 2 on side 2. Seems like it would have made more sense to put all five on both sides? Anything over approximately 18 minutes per side on your standard 12'' record can result in diminished sound qua...

Re: What happened to guitar rock?

It has been co-opted by the masses who require that their music is easy to digest. This means no complex structures, no fancy rhythms that stray beyond a singular beat, and most of all, nothing that transcends 3 chords. Music that requires a listener's attention is all but gone, which is a reflectio...

Re: Vinyl or Digital?

I should mention this record feels a lot heavier than what I'm used to. They must be using different material. Indeed, most modern pressings of vinyl records are now done to the standard of ''180 gram'', whereas pressings done in the past would be considerably lighter. This, I suppose, is to give t...

Re: Making the site easier to read?

I like this newer format, though it may require some tweaking. Of all the sites I frequent, this one left me with a similar burn-in to staring into the sun. I don't experience any problems reading with the black-blue background. For those who don't like this, maybe changing the blue into a more subt...

Re: Best Console Design Decisions

My recollection is that the controller had a battery compartment and, for an extra cost (like $20), you could buy a separate recharging kit that added a rechargeable battery. So it's a dicey area. Hard to call it a good design when it required a separate purchase, but also heard to credit the PS3 w...

Zack Burner wrote:...the music was beautifully orchestrated (Thank the always great Nobuo Uematsu for that)

The music was not done by Uematsu in Secret of Mana. Hiroki Kikuta was the composer and producer. Excellent music nonetheless.

Re: Lethal Enforcers 3 (arcade)

So you're reviewing all these games based on YouTube videos? I assumed you had been using emulators or something like that. What do you think guys? Does it qualify as a review if the reviewer doesn't actually play it?? Hmmmm For the purpose of full and honest disclosure, I believe it should be note...

Re: Nintendo Switch Lite - are you getting one?

What model grip did you get? Because, as much as I’d like to pick up the XL, I can tell it’s going to be essential for me. My brother has a grip for his Switch, and he said he can’t imagine the Lite being comfortable. Biogenik 2DS XL Grip Stand. Purchased at EbGames for $14.99. It makes a world of ...

Re: Nintendo Switch Lite - are you getting one?

This is a resounding NO for me. A few months ago I purchased the real Switch, one that I can hook up to a proper size and quality screen. Handheld is not ideal for me. I recently purchased an attachment for my New 2DS XL so that I can play it for more than 15 minutes without my hands cramping. This ...

Sega CD: Requiring second power brick; the PC-Engine/Turbografx-CD attachment only needed one power supply for itself and the base unit. Also needed for stereo sound on the first model of Sega CD/Genesis was a 3.5mm cable to go from the headphone jack on the front of the Genesis to the 'mixing' inp...
