Re: Secret of Mana (SNES)

Zack Burner wrote:...the music was beautifully orchestrated (Thank the always great Nobuo Uematsu for that)

The music was not done by Uematsu in Secret of Mana. Hiroki Kikuta was the composer and producer. Excellent music nonetheless.

Re: Lethal Enforcers 3 (arcade)

So you're reviewing all these games based on YouTube videos? I assumed you had been using emulators or something like that. What do you think guys? Does it qualify as a review if the reviewer doesn't actually play it?? Hmmmm For the purpose of full and honest disclosure, I believe it should be note...

Re: Nintendo Switch Lite - are you getting one?

What model grip did you get? Because, as much as I’d like to pick up the XL, I can tell it’s going to be essential for me. My brother has a grip for his Switch, and he said he can’t imagine the Lite being comfortable. Biogenik 2DS XL Grip Stand. Purchased at EbGames for $14.99. It makes a world of ...

Re: Nintendo Switch Lite - are you getting one?

This is a resounding NO for me. A few months ago I purchased the real Switch, one that I can hook up to a proper size and quality screen. Handheld is not ideal for me. I recently purchased an attachment for my New 2DS XL so that I can play it for more than 15 minutes without my hands cramping. This ...

Re: Console Design Blunders

Sega CD: Requiring second power brick; the PC-Engine/Turbografx-CD attachment only needed one power supply for itself and the base unit. Also needed for stereo sound on the first model of Sega CD/Genesis was a 3.5mm cable to go from the headphone jack on the front of the Genesis to the 'mixing' inp...

Re: Console Design Blunders

I'll take some flak for this, but it's also indicative of my mindset and ultimately why I'm on this site. PS4 shipping with a 500gb hard drive is my most recent point of aggravation due to poor console design. Maybe this is not a ''blunder'' so much as a ''who gives a $#%T what the dedicated consume...

Re: Final Fantasy VII retrospective

I've probably crushed this game completely at least 3 times in my life. It will always be one of my favourite games of all time as well. Graphically it may not have aged so well, but this is also part of the charm that makes it what it is. The music, however, is absolutely amazing. Uematsu outdid hi...

Re: Unpopular Gaming Opinions

I'm going by what I read on sites like Metacritic, but it seems that Chrono Cross is beloved by many and seen to be one of the greatest RPGs of all time. Unpopular? Based on this metric, yes. I think Chrono Cross does shame to it's namesake and 'legacy'. It took me until a couple of years ago before...

Re: NHL Hockey

Jets fan. Things are...shaky. Gone from a Cup favourite to wild card in the course of a season. Missing the only fat man in the NHL...well, only current player. NHL 94 on Genesis is THE hockey game. Mastered it 26 years ago with the almighty Teemu Selanne...and forgot how to play in more recent year...

Re: Ogre Battle (SNES)

P.S. Either the PS1 or PSP versions of FFT are great, but technically the PSP version is an upgrade. Most notable is the improved translation. I must point out that FFT for PSP suffers greatly from load times which occur for every action. For me, this rendered the game virtually unplayable compared...
