Re: Has anyone actually ever repaired a game disc without resurfacing?

I have never tried anything other than resurfacing discs, if you buy several games from a game store and you notice that several of them are scratched, you could probably throw in your other disc with the pile. I bet the people at the store wouldn't even notice that you slipped an extra disc in ther...

Re: Component cables for old systems

A simple way of thinking about SCART cables is that they are a method of getting true RGB picture quality out of your game consoles. They are fairly close (honestly probably a little better video quality) than Component cables. The nice part is a lot of older consoles (even though they are from the U...

Re: Maintenance on old systems. (Dreamcast specifically)

To test if the game itself is the issue or if it is the console I would recommend downloading an ISO of the Dreamcast game, burn it to a CD, and try playing it on your console. Since the Dreamcast was not secure enough, this should work easily enough. Sometimes the issue may be the disc even if ther...

Re: Golf Story (Switch)

I don't think the game is bad by any means, just has some obvious flaws. I still found the game enjoyable but probably a C game.

Re: Do your parents like video games?

My mom has never played video games period. She doesn't get them and has completely different interests. My dad however, used to play all of our consoles together. My dad and I used to fight on Mortal Kombat 2 (he liked Baraka and Scorpion) and during the PSX era he played a ton of Armored Core, MGS...

Re: Golf Story (Switch)

I agree. One of my biggest complaints of this game (besides all the errands you run in the game that are not Golf related) was not being able to see the whole course while golfing. All you can ever do is stretch the camera a bit past your max drive length. When the courses can be huge, not having a ...

Re: Crash Bandicoot

The first Crash is a bit different then the later games. Some big changes include: -Duel Shock controller is not supported (I believe it's Crash 2 that has a Greatest hits version that supports it, Crash 3 fully supports it). -The movement and controls are a bit more touchy then the previous games -...

Re: Component cables for old systems

The original NES doesn't support RGB? Thought it did. TBH- I don't have an original NES, I have a modded NES Toploader. I would agree with pretty much everything else you said. When I was looking into hooking up all my consoles to my modern tv, I looked into the NGC component cables. I'm really glad...

Re: Component cables for old systems

To tell you the truth, I didn't know classic systems like the Saturn even supported RGB? I think I began using component cables with the PS2/GameCube/Xbox generation. Before that it was S-Video or composite. Tons of consoles actually support RGB and even support SCART cables. Even if the console is...

Re: Component cables for old systems

I've heard the HD retrovision Component cables are really good:

As for Gamecube, don't buy them. They are overpriced because only Nintendo released them in limited quantities. You are better buying a Wii component cables and playing your Gamecube games on that console.
