Re: 2019/4/17: Atari XEGS: River Raid, Operation Blood: Light Gun Version

For the Critic's well known admiration of River Raid it is a little surprising that the Intellivision version has yet to be reviewed. It's a good one and plays well with the Inty controller!

Re: What do you like/dislike about the site?

I have always appreciated the short and concise reviews and cannot count the number of times I have used them when deciding many of my game purchases (particularly with Atari 5200 and Colecovision games as these were systems I acquired later on in my life and had no real knowledge of.) I have no iss...

Re: Good movies you’ve watched recently

I just watched Netflix's Bird Box the other night and would highly recommend it. While it is easy to poke holes into it (I would have liked some type of explanation as to how crazy people were immune and what was the source of the epidemic) the movie is chilling.

Re: Game of the Year 2018?

My vote is for Elektronite's Miner 2049er for the Intellivision. With all the original levels of this classic game PLUS several new ones I have been playing the dickens out of this game this fall. Expertly programmed, the games plays perfectly with the Intellivision controllers. Highly recommended!

Re: Records vs. CDs vs. digital music

As a guy who many times in the 1990's signed up for the BMG "12 CDs for the price of 1" type of record club memberships (using several aliases) it still amazes me to this day that I can check out compact discs from my local library and bring them home to make flawless copies for free. I ha...

Re: ABC Monday Night Football (SNES)

Alright....this game has been bothering me for the past two days. When your running back or receiver is approaching the goal line and is being pursued by a defender does this game prompt you to repeatedly tap the A or B button? (and the same for your opponent?) Basically the winner is the one who ta...

Re: Tecmo Super Bowl (SNES)

I have the Genesis counterparts (Tecmo Super Bowl, Special Edition and Final Edition) and simply put....these games will never become boring or stale. Vintage rosters from the golden era of the NFL (early '90's), easy to play and for those of us who are statistic nuts a very cool league leaders boar...

Re: Blu Ray Fail

Can you imagine if they made old discs obsolete and/or not function? Hopefully they will never think about doing that because people would throw a fit. I can tell you think much---I will never "upgrade" to Ultra 4k Blu Rays. Forget it. Blu Ray is the last physical media format (for movies...

Re: Microvision System Review

This is very cool!!! Thank you Retro Strife & VGC! I never had one of these but do remember the commercial for it making me want one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eRqYa6yL8Jk The Friday the 13th Pt. 2 photo was a nice touch too. I didn't realize that they were playing Microvision (I would hav...

Atari 7800 Games....Food Fight, Joust and Commando

One man's opinion: 1. I think Food Fight is the MOST overrated video game I've ever played. Boring game premise and little to no motivation to want to see all the levels (50 I think)....just a big yawn. B-/c+ at best 2. Joust just RULES on the 7800.......played with the Sega Genesis controller - jus...
