Re: Easy SRPGs?

Yeah, ptdebate has it right - you learn it as a Chemist ability. Admittedly, it's been like 5-10 years since the last time I played through FFT, so my memory on some things in fuzzy. One thing I do remember though is that I hate Chemists. Well, really, I hate using healing items in any RPG.. I want...

Re: Easy SRPGs?

I always make sure to avoid losing characters - stock up on Phoenix Downs early on. Question: How do I use phoenix downs? I've got a ton of them, but none of my guys have the option to use them. The chemist can use potions, but not PDs. Phoenix Down is an ability in the Chemist job that costs a cer...

Re: High Def Sega!

I LOVE my Analogue Super Nt so being a Genesis/MD fan (honestly more than I am an SNES fan), this will be a day one pickup for me.

Re: Easy SRPGs?

I was told to avoid grinding in FFT because the enemies level with you, essentially making leveling up at all pointless. Remember though that in Tactics the biggest reason for leveling up is gaining new abilities through JP (Job Points). A black mage with Firaga is going to categorically outclass a...

Re: Easy SRPGs?

I've always heard people say that FFT is a hard game, but I don't get that. It is challenging, but I think the secret to success is a lot of grinding by replaying battles to get your levels up. You'll lose here and there, and it sucks to lose 30 minutes into a battle and have to start over, but gen...

Re: Easy SRPGs?

I'd recommend Fire Emblem: Awakening for the 3DS. Although FE is typically a more challenging series, the recent ones have multiple difficulty levels so they are more accessible.

Agreed on FFT. The game is absolutely decimating me right now. Gotta git gud.

Re: Dragon Quest XI

Really dumb question time. Do the enemies scale up as you level up or can you grind and decimate everyone? I really don't like games where the enemies scale up with you. It completely defeats my strategy of making an over powered team to destroy guys. Similarly, it means I have to learn whatever we...

Re: PC games that never got a proper console port?

I used to spend countless hours playing Red Baron on our PC (It was a Packard Bell desktop if you remember those. ha!). My PC gaming back then consisted of Red Baron and logging into various BBS lines to play door games like Legend of the Red Dragon and Planets: The Exploration of Space. Great time...

Re: Super Nintendo Classic Edition Review

I was on the fence about this console but ultimately went with the Analogue Super Nt. Can't go wrong either way - both are easy to mod and play tons of games. Nice review!
