Re: Dragon Quest XI

Have you run into any metal slimes yet? I was googling where to find them, and only saw one randomly in battle in the desert area with another random monster. I still haven’t seen any on the actual overworld. I ran into one but it immediately escaped after the first turn. The game was just teasing ...

Re: Super Ghouls and Ghosts

I broke out my SNES Classic the other day and tried Super Ghouls and Ghosts. Now I'm a huge fan of Dark Souls and Bloodborne, so obviously a game being hard doesn't bother me. SG&G, though, is too hard! Unfairly hard! There's no strategy or skill here, it's just an avalanche of enemies designed...

Re: Nvidia Switchforce port incoming!

Agree/Disagree, need more clarification/information, etc. Please let me know as I will response more if you need more info ok? It would make for more interesting discussion if you would construct an argument using the evidence rather than just posting links. What is it from the articles that inform...

Re: A Hat In Time Coming To Switch

Oh, and not indicative at all in terms of quality, but Gears For Breakfast actually kept JonTron in their game, unlike the cucks at Playtonic. Are you being serious right now? Yooka-Laylee which got outsold by Persona 5 despite the later getting little to no hype by comparison. You really think the...

Re: Complex and hard to learn... good?

Well, I can tell you that it's hard to even set up! I downloaded the game itself, but couldn't figure out how to run it since the game itself is hidden somewhere in a bunch of folders inside a zip drive. So I downloaded the "Lazy Newb Pack" that makes it easier to get working, and... cras...

Re: Complex and hard to learn... good?

I think it's a good thing, but it all depends on how the game rewards the player's diligence and time investment. Are the overarching mechanics enjoyable? Does the game reward calculated risk? Is the punishment for failure too harsh? I like how the Dark Souls/Bloodborne series strongly punishes thou...

Re: Halloween Games Suggestions

I dont think Doom really leaned into the scare factor until Doom 3, and new Doom largely eschews it by returning to the franchise's roots. The protagonist is just too powerful for the game to feel scary. The macabre visual theming is more than enough to put any of the Doom games on a list with such...

Re: Nvidia Switchforce port incoming!

So now that current-gen releases have no more connection to 7th-generation hardware, are you satisfied with how they are utilizing the features of more advanced 8th-generation hardware? What are the differences? How, specifically, can you tell a game was hampered by releasing on multiple generations...

Re: Halloween Games Suggestions

If you're looking for games you've already reviewed we think should be added go the list, then I'm surprised none of the Doom games are on there, seeing as how they're some if the original "scary" games. I dont think Doom really leaned into the scare factor until Doom 3, and new Doom larg...

Re: Nvidia Switchforce port incoming!

Doesn't this undermine your previous point that last-gen development standards undermined current-gen titles because of the difference in the underlying technology?
