Re: 2019/2/13: Atari 2600: Battlezone, Enduro

Two of my very favorites. Battlezone is such an amazing game. I'm glad I've finally given it time in recent years, since I didn't realize just how great of a game it was when I'd just play it here and there every once in a while. I wish Robot Tank played as well as this one. Would love to see a comb...

Re: 3DS on the way out? Recommendations?

I played Ocarina of Time 3D all the way through about a year ago and still loved it. It was my first play through of the game since it was a few months old on the Nintendo 64 and held my attention so much that I tracked down every last heart piece and so on. I didn't even do that back in 1999. My on...

Re: 2019/2/5: Nintendo Switch: Namco Museum Arcade_Pak, Toki

Steve Golson, Ms Pac-man developer, said that's because Namco didn't want to pay him a royalty anymore. Seriously. Explains why it was the lone piece of paid DLC for Pac-Man Museum on the 360/PS3. It also answers why when 'Pac-Man Championship Edition 2 + Arcade Game Series' hit retail for the PS4/...

Re: 2019/2/5: Nintendo Switch: Namco Museum Arcade_Pak, Toki

I was hoping you'd warm up to Sky Kid at long last (One of my personal favorites), but at least you're consistent with your earlier reviews. :) Ms. Pac-Man for some reason has fallen out of favor in recent years. With few exceptions, it usually hasn't appeared on dedicated gaming devices when Namco ...

Re: RIP Wii Shop Channel to end service on January 31, 2019!

Too bad the Wii U wasn't more popular. I believe the 3DS eShop shows us what likely would've happened here had it been. When the DSi storefront went down, 99.9% of that content was migrated over to the 3DS eShop thanks to backwards compatibility. DSi owners lost the ability to make purchases and red...

Re: Japanese games on my American PS1?

According to the below post, I guess PSIO wouldn't lift region locking when using the optical drive. Only does when playing disc images off SD card. https://assemblergames.com/threads/can-you-use-a-psio-if-you-have-a-modded-ps1.69745/#post-976756 PSIO's faq says that it could be used to allow the bo...

Re: Japanese games on my American PS1?

Short of modifications, I don't think there's an easy way. And a lot of that stuff like the various modification chip designs are long out of production. With the price of Playstation 2's and the plethora of good PS2 imports, the typical way in recent years that a classic gamer gains access to the J...

Re: RIP Wii Shop Channel to end service on January 31, 2019!

May have just been a temporary fluke. Reading Nintendo's faq just now makes it sound like it's not really the full end to the Wii Shop like has been interpreted. Users were able to add Wii Points until March 26, 2018, and they will continue to be able to purchase content on the Wii Shop Channel unti...

Re: RIP Wii Shop Channel to end service on January 31, 2019!

Did they end it early?

Logged on to my Wii U to confirm everything had been redownloaded and was working (My Wii U had been serviced by Nintendo several times, forcing me to redownload my Wii Shop games each time), but was only getting an error code when attempting to connect to the Wii Shop.

Re: Namco Arcade Pak (Switch)

I don't know if they have it left, but I bought Namco Museum 64 in December from GameStop for I believe $1.99 when I bought some used older SD cards for use in my Atari Flashback 9 and Legends Flashback systems (The AtGames stuff is finicky and doesn't seem to like newer SD cards even when formatted...
