Re: Xbox and Privacy

I can't vouch for it, but I've read that these "mistakes" only happened to users that opted in for allowing Microsoft to utilize their data to improve Kinect voice recognition.

Makes it slightly more palatable if true, but good riddance just the same.

Re: A Sega published game comes to the Nintendo Switch NES Online app!

An odd combination for me would've been Sega on the PS1. It morphed into those lackluster 3D remakes on the Playstation 2 that weren't well received (Helping cement Sega's relationship with M2 when they happily took over the project), but initially the announced aim was to port Saturn games to the o...

Re: A Sega published game comes to the Nintendo Switch NES Online app!

Does seem like an odd combination, doesn't it? Worth remembering though that actual Sega content made it out on the NES and other consoles of the time thanks to Sega not abandoning the American console model of supporting a healthy competitor until the early 1990's. This was all done by licensing co...

Re: Unsupported Video Signal for PS1 games on PS2?

If you use progressive scan in GameCube games for the improved visual quality, I'm not sure that will work. The Retrotink website when I was looking at it a few weeks ago made it sound like a 480p analog component input wasn't able to be converted to a digital 480p output via HDMI with the Retrotink...

Re: Unsupported Video Signal for PS1 games on PS2?

If you want to play your PS1 through this and want it to look good, HD Retrovision builds original Playstation component cables that tap into the system's native RGB capabilities and converts it to North American ‎YPbPr component video https://www.hdretrovision.com/playstation Technically, it's actu...

Re: 2019/8/17: Xbox: Outrun 2, Outrun 2006: Coast to Coast

It's literally twice as good. I say that half seriously because of what sort of an update Outrun 2006: Coast to Coast was. We're not talking about a sequel here, we're talking about a follow-up that essentially took the 15 tracks of the original game, left them as-is, and expanded it with a brand ne...

Someone has a nice comparison video up on YouTube.

Other than the ocean in the opening stage of Outrun 2 SP which visually looks much better on the Xbox version, it's tough to tell the two apart.

Re: 2019/8/17: Xbox: Outrun 2, Outrun 2006: Coast to Coast

While I much prefer the Xbox controller for this game, the PS2 version happily is very competitive visually. It's a close enough race where you pretty much need both games running simultaneously while flipping back and forth to notice the slight downgrade. Sumo Digital performed miracles with that P...

Re: Pinterest?

I've had a smartphone for six months and could live without it. I use it to stream my favorite radio station when I can't pick it up directly and have streamed a few classic NASCAR races off the MRN website in recent weeks when I'm going to be in the car for a few hours. But otherwise I've only used...

Re: Analogue Super Nt

The latest firmware update for the Super NT was a good one. The biggest news is that many enhancement chip games can now be played off the internal SD card in rom form. Not all are currently supported, but the DSP1-4 line are (Pilotwings, Super Mario Kart, Top Gear 3000, et al), CX4 is supported (Me...
