Re: Great Moments in Video Game History

Going old old old school. Told this story many times here, but in one summer in 1981 I won 45 sixteen-inch pizzas at our local arcade/pizza place. The pizza place was in the front, the arcade in the back, about 20 games in all, and like 7 qualified for the free pizza each week. Some weeks I won 5 pi...

Re: NFL Football

I usually charge over $20K for this info, but here are the correct winners and scores for yesterday. Uh, I mean tomorrow. Yeah, that’s it, that’s the ticket.

Re: Intellivision controllers

It must have been a common complaint back in the day too, because several companies made attachments to turn the Intellivision controller into a joystick. This is true, a lot of game players hated INTV controllers, but I kinda liked them even with their faults. Even in games like Snafu, where you'l...

Re: NFL Football

49ers over Vikings, no shocker there. Titans over Ravens, man oh man is Dereck Henry a beast. He’s like 10’7 and weighs over 520 pounds (6’4”, 248). He and his O-Line are in synch; Henry had a full head of steam by the time he got to the line of scrimmage untouched. Big, fast, and patient runner. Ch...

Yep, definitely would add that one, along with the original Peabody and Sherman.

Re: Your top 10 cartoons of all time

In no particular order:

Looney Tunes
Tranzor Z
He-Man
Spongebob
Jimmy Neutron
Ultraman (not a cartoon but it’s my list)
Ren and Stimpy
The Superfriends
The Simpsons (seasons 1-8)
The Flintstones

For Spongebob and Jimmy Neutron, having kids definitely helped.

Re: Make Me Laugh

One night back in the 80’s I saw Steven Wright on Letterman. In Steven Wright’s deadpan voice, “There was a light-switch in my house that did nothing. I just flipped it on and off all day but nothing happened. Three months later I got a letter from a woman in Germany that said ‘Cut it out.”

Went to the doc last week, after a bunch of tests he said I was colorblind. It happened completely out of the purple.

Re: Which sound effects would best represent your gaming nostalgia?

In addition to Pac-Man and Donkey Kong, the relentless thumping of Space Invaders, the French phrases in Bagman arcade, the sound effect of hitting the ball in Pong, and who can forget the BUZZ noise every time you hit the wrong key on the INTV.
