Re: Happy 9/9/99!

I was working in Tokyo during this time. I remember reading an interview with the company president in either The Daily Yomiyuri or the Japan Times right before the Dreamcast was released. One thing that struck me from the interview is the company president basically said “This is it. If Dreamcast d...

Re: THQ Rises from the grave!

Quest 64 by THQ for the N64 was an RPG that I was really stoked about, and boy oh boy was it a stinker. I kept trying to like it but never happened. For some reason every time I see THQ I think of that crummy game.

Re: 2019/9/1: Philips CD-i: A Great Day at the Races, Space Ace

I’m stunned that Space Ace got such a high grade. I had a chance to recently play some old laserdisc arcade games including Dragons Lair and Space Ace. The main problem with Space Ace is it can take 20 moves or more to complete a scene (VGC pointed this out in one of his older reviews), while Dragon...

First Stalvern says it’s an 800 pound gorilla, now Sonic says it’s a 9000 pound gorilla. Well, which is it? And does this gorilla throw barrels?

Re: Still not sold on Google Stadia

Also, subject line is misleading. “Still not sold on Google Stadia” implies that you have at least a modicum of objectivity towards Stadia. Maybe what you stated later, “I hate Stadia (as well), it a overhyped piece of trash” would have been a more appropriate subject line.

Re: Most Terrifying Games of all time?

Berzerk , the only game to have actually killed someone. (As far as I know.) Had to check this out, from the arcade museum site KLOV...who knew Otto was so powerful? “Berzerk shares a rather chilling distinction of being the first known game to be blamed for an actual player's death. In January 198...

Re: Will you miss Game Stop

Electronics Boutique, Babbages, Funcoland, companies of which I have fond memories (Nice set-up, friendly staff, etc). With GameStop, this part from the article sums it up best: “For many consumers, the seemingly imminent demise of GameStop is not a cause for sadness. The company has a reputation in...
