Re: What do your the kids in your life think of these games?

My 17 year old is TOTALLY into classic gaming. INTV, SNES, and N64, and has multiple Banjo Kazooie t-shirts. Makes his old man proud.

Re: Why ARM architecture for the Nintendo Switch is better then X86 from PS4/Xbox One!

But in the old days The Switch isn't from the old days. Game development does not work that way anymore, ARM CPU or not. It is not practical to develop for modern systems in assembly; the benefits are marginal at best on systems this powerful and are far outweighed by the amount of work it demands ...

Re: Atari VCS is a scam!

http://www.theregister.co.uk/2018/06/21/atari_interview_in_full/ interesting article about the VCS and why it is a scam ... You folks are most likely much more informed than me about this, but after reading this article I would suggest that my fellow VGC’ers think long and hard (that’s what she sai...

Solid reviews, and I loved the last sentence in the Jurassic Park review was brilliant, great reference!

Re: Jurassic World

Jurassic Park, great flick, memorable lines “your scientists were so preoccupied if they could they never stopped to think if they should”.

The problem that I had with Jurassic World (along with The Hobbit and the newer Stars Wars flicks) is CGI overload. I want to see a movie not a video game.

John actually said that, not me ;) but yes, the we have better resources than they did back in the day. Some of the key things are ⋅ great community support support - other programmers frequently help out, artists (both pixel & audio), play-testers, etc. ⋅ better development...

Re: Ted Dabney, Atari Co-Founder, has passed

Wow, sad news. Read a lot about him (including Atari Inc: Business is Fun, great read). Came across in interviews as a really nice guy. And as much as I’ve defended Nolan Bushnell here in the past, it seems that Bushnell really screwed Dabney over by forcing him out of Atari, the company he helped c...
