Re: Records vs. CDs vs. digital music

I miss going to music stores. I don't think that there's been much creativity the last decade in rock music anyways, so the internet doesn't really matter. What I listen to for free I could have on cds it would be no different than now except it would be fun to go to stores. As someone who prefers r...

Re: Records vs. CDs vs. digital music

I didn't like Cds at first. I actually liked tapes but when everything went to cd's mainly and tapes disappeared in the 90's, I starting liking cd's. Now I have Apple Music only because my brother added me to his plan. I'd never pay for that. I like it and you can get pretty much any artist and albu...

Re: 2018/11/17: Playstation: NCAA Football 98

I agree about the real players being overrated. It was fascinating when I was young and those were the first games to use real players. But I always liked making fictional teams, jerseys, and fake players. It takes a story of its own in a dynasty. FPSFP 97 had a feature where players could make the ...

Re: Favorite Rock Stars (Pre Grunge)

While I'm enjoying Elvis and Buddy Holly, boy do they talk about girls in every song. I can understand with Elvis as that's is schtick. Every one of Holly's songs is about love sweet love with his woman. I sometimes feel like it's getting me nauseous. A lot of my favorite frontmen like David Lee Rot...

Re: 2018/11/17: Playstation: NCAA Football 98

Both of those games were great until I mastered them, and looking back now can sort of be called the quintessential college football games, 98-01, if one doesn't want to be bombarded with too many options of modern games. As far as stadiums go, Triple Play 97 was the first game to immerse one in the...

I played '99 and '01 a lot, which were really good. It was nice to see EA do every stadium, which was maybe the first football series to do that. It would get you psyched up.

Re: Favorite Rock Stars (Pre Grunge)

I've been listening to Buddy Holly and Elvis lately. They are both amazing. Buddy Holly wrote and performed all of his songs, which was incredible, especially considering he put out so much great music by the time he was 22. I need to get into more of these guys from the 50's. That's the first kind ...

Re: N64 still fun for company

To me, co-op was about getting together and for that one purpose. Nowadays, it has declined. It was special in the 90's playing Goldeneye, MK64, etc. with friends because it was the 90's. It was before the internet and phones made everything a mess. I miss having the N64, Blockbuster, and video game...

Re: Favorite Rock Stars (Pre Grunge)

I was scrolling through a bunch of rock songs from 2000 and found Kryptonite from 3 doors down. Now, back in 2000 I wrote these guys off as being overrated but one thing stuck out to me. Kryptonite today sounds way more important than it did in 2000. Back then it was just another textbook postgrunge...

Re: Most Innovative Games?

I'm going with NHLPA '93 for the computer. It's confusing, very much so, but it's the same exact game as NHL '94 for the Genesis and SNES. The only difference is that this computer version let you play the playoffs, which the console versions didn't have. So this is 1993, and it was a huge quantum l...
