Re: Sly 2: Band of Thieves

Thanks for the review! The PS2 had some great platformer series... Ratchet & Clank, Jak & Daxter, and Sly Cooper being the Big 3 that I always think of. And yet, I've never played any of them. I own a few games from each series, but just haven't had time to play them yet. My goal is to play...

Re: Crash Team Racing Nitro Fueled (Switch)

Surprised by the poor first impressions. I enjoyed what I played of the N-Sane Trilogy but never played the original version of the cart-racing game so I watched an OneyPlays video to see what it was like. Oney (Chris O'Neill) is a big fan of the original game and he didn't seem to have any issues w...

Re: Raging Justice (Switch)

Looks like fun - I'll have to check it out one day. The graphics remind me a bit of Pit FIghter - they look a bit primitive but they bring back a lot of nostalgic vibes because of that (which I'm sure they were going for). I wish there were more games like this... There's a game called The Takeover ...

Re: The Horror Movie Lovers Thread

It's been a little quiet in this thread. I'm going to hopefully be watching more stuff over the next month or two. I Saw the Devil - South Korean horror-thriller which begins with a serial killer (played by Choi Min-sik, star of Oldboy ) kidnapping and murdering the pregnant wife of a special forces...

Re: Songs that defined your childhood?

I was born in the 80s but my Dad played the oldies almost exclusively. The Monkees and the Beach Boys were my early favorites - a Beach Boys live album from the bargain bin was the first proper album I ever owned. My Mom played a mix of Top 40 and Christian Contemporary stuff - Amy Grant was in cons...

Re: Very hard games that were intended for young children

Taz-Mania for the Genesis is almost unbeatable on anything but Easy mode. You are constantly forced to make leap-of-faith jumps to platforms you can't see and bottomless pits are instant deaths on any difficult other than Easy (where you just take damage and are propelled back onto the air). There's...

He also showed me Cuphead which looked very creepy and wasn't very fun. Cuphead's awesome! I don't know what you're talking about. It's hard as heck and I suck at it, but totally loved it until I hit the wall. You've got to give the game a full letter grade for its art style. I really enjoy Cuphead...

Re: Do your parents like video games?

My Mom has never shown any interest in games at all, although she's never had a problem with me playing them and she would usually buy me one if I had a good report card. I only convinced her to play with me once when I was 5 or 6, not long after I got my NES - we played the two-player version of Su...

Re: Crash Bandicott N-Sane Trilogy question

And the sad part, PS4 version had patches as recent as March 2019 WTH!: http://updatecrazy.com/crash-bandicoot-n-sane-trilogy-update-version-1-08-patch-notes/ shows thar PS4 and Xbox One love releasing broken games unlike Switch. I have the PS4 version and whatever patches it has are optional. I've...

Re: Kung Fury Movie

I posted about it a few years ago: https://videogamecritic.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=202515&t=13292 I thought it was fun and had some good gags, although it does start to wear out its welcome near the end. A couple of other films I've seen recently with a video game slant are Turbo Kid (which h...
