Re: Shmups vs Bullet Hell shooters.

I like both styles, but I am absolutely not good at either.

Re: In defense of 'bad' disparaged games

I had Star Voyager for Nintendo. My uncle gave it to me for Christmas. He is a big Star Trek fan so I bet he was thinking along those lines. Critic hasn't reviewed at it, but Questicle gave it an F, and it deserves it. Yet I poured hours into it and need to have a copy in collection just because of ...

Re: Early Piracy Theory - Okay to Copy but not Disseminate

I think feelies are the best method of protection. They're fun, rather than onerous. Or questions before the program will load, like "What is the fifth word on page 8 of the manual?" Of course, that wouldn't be very effective today. And publishers seem to dislike anything physical. I suppo...

Re: Plagiarism?

Are your reviews copyrighted, Critic? If you're not aware, there are some very simple ways to do so without having to pay for it. For starters, you could just put (c)VideoGameCritic, or (c)YourName, and as long as the review is strictly your own property, that's a legal copyright. If you want to ta...

Re: Ms Pac Man Twin

See if there's a Battle Royale arcade machine near you.

But getting back to Twin, I wonder if there's a MAME ROM. I'm going to look for that (when work on my house is done)

Agreed, this is very cool. Rev, have you heard of Pac-Man Battle Royale? FOUR players at once...no ghosts, instead you can eat the other Pac-Mans.

LoganRuckman wrote:Metroid: Zero Mission- The original Metroid is great, but this blows it out of the water in every single way. This is a remake done right. Eraserhead, you should try this one out. It's the original, but better.

Thanks for the rec! If I ever get a GBA or a WiiU, I will look for it for sure!

Re: You get 3 games (can choose from Mario, Zelda, or Metroid)....Go!

It's tempting to "double dip" but I want a variety, so I would pick one from each. Super Mario Bros 3 - No explanation needed, it regularly tops "best games of all time" lists original Metroid - Seems like it would be most satisfying for me. I have never gotten very far in any Me...

the Commodores (the computers, not the singers), the Amstrads, the BBC Micros, the Sinclairs, etc. Seriously, I never even heard of any of those until about eight years ago. And it only happened then because I was active in a computer forum that happened to have a lot of Euro members. Even now, non...
