Re: Modern Full Price $60 Video Games with YouTube style ads that are unskippable!

On the other hand, they save money by licensing pre-existing engines. They could also budget better by reusing more sets, props, costumes and polygon models (as if they were real actors, items, and locations), and hiring unknowns for their voice/motion capture cast. We're at the point where texture...

Re: Modern Full Price $60 Video Games with YouTube style ads that are unskippable!

This is what happens when the price of AAA games hasn't risen from its 90s 16-bit days compared to most other forms of entertainment and the reason why game development companies continue to reach into the college graduates pool and outsourcing for cheap labor -- in addition to making them work 80 ...

Re: Modern Full Price $60 Video Games with YouTube style ads that are unskippable!

Skippable ads only lead to unskippable. I don’t like them. I have issues when I pay for something and am still subjected to ads. Why pay for cable television when I still have to watch ads? My big peeve now is those dang tv ads at gas stations. I’m paying full price for the gas. Why do I have this ...

Re: A Sega published game comes to the Nintendo Switch NES Online app!

None of this strikes me as strange. Not in the least. I had the NES version of After Burner when I was a kid. It came in one of those black unlicensed Tengen cartridges. Right there on the title screen, clear as day, was a copyright date with Sega's name: https://gamefaqs.akamaized.net/screens/b/6/...

Re: A Sega published game comes to the Nintendo Switch NES Online app!

Does seem like an odd combination, doesn't it? Worth remembering though that actual Sega content made it out on the NES and other consoles of the time thanks to Sega not abandoning the American console model of supporting a healthy competitor until the early 1990's. This was all done by licensing c...

Re: Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation (PS1)

Yeah, Tomb Raider had a big dropoff in quality after the first 3, and royally sucked before they rebooted it in recent years. Last Revelation is better left forgotten. Legends is good, Anniversary was ok, and Underworld was kind of meh, and Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light was also good, so not...
