Re: Top five list

6. Gimmick (Famicom) - If you skip everything else I write in this post, hear this: Gimmick is the greatest 2d platformer ever made. This is zero nostalgia, too. I didn’t actually sit down to learn how to play this game and beat it until 2019. And it does take time, because Gimmick is HARD. The enem...

Re: Top five list

Yay! I love lists, specifically getting game recommendations from the lists of others. Here we go: 1. The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past (SNES, GBA) - This might just remain my favorite game forever. It’s infinitely replay-able and my “perfect” game. Great graphics and color, incredible music, ...

Re: Streets of Rage 4 Limited Release

I’ve really enjoyed the Yakuza series of games. A physical release for remasters (and retranslations) of Yakuza 3, 4 and 5 (PS4) was just released. Fans know that was a BIG deal, especially after Yakuza 5 was previously digital only. A lot of people refer to that as a spiritual successor to Sega’s o...

Re: Favorite Resident Evil Games?

I’m seeing a surprising lack of Resident Evil 7 in these comments. You guys should really push that one up in your backlog queue. If you can play it on PS4 in VR, even better. I promise it will be a gaming experience you’ll never forget. That said, I have to agree with the masses here. Resident Evil...

Re: Psikyo Shooting Stars Alpha (Switch)

I bought both Alpha and Beta and bought a Hori Real Arcade Pro stick just to play the Shmups on Switch. I also recently bought an arcade monitor and a VESA arm so I can rotate the monitor 90 degrees and play in tate mode. I also play my M2 Shotriggers PS4 Shmups (Dangun Feveron, Battle Garegga, ESP ...

Re: Dreamcast Light Gun Issues

I can tell you that the official JP Dreamcast lightguns by Sega are excellent. In terms of accuracy and feel, they have to be up there with the Saturn stunner and the Namco GunCon 1 and 2. It may seem like this isn’t helpful information, but it’s not too steep an investment to get a gun or two and a...

Re: 2019/11/19: Nintendo Switch: Blade Strangers, Ninja Saviors: The Return of the Warriors

Just FYI, the SNES game was released as “Ninja Warriors Again” in other regions and was a sequel to the Ninja Warriors arcade game, but was never an arcade game itself. It was a console exclusive for the Super Famicom/Snes. So, Ninja Saviors (Switch/PS4) is a remake of the Super Nintendo game, but n...

Re: Dragon's Crown (Vita)

The Amazon was my choice, too. With certain upgrades, I was spinning across the play area, damaging every enemy by the end of the game. She was a joy to play as. I really like the Elf as well, because she uses a ranged attack with bow and arrow and also uses a bit of magic. Something cool about the ...

Re: Scaled down arcade cabinets

I kind of scoffed at the idea of getting a stand-alone 3/4 arcade machine at first, but I have to say I’m pretty impressed with most of Arcade1up’s efforts. I’d really like to get the TMNT and Marvel machines... but they’re both pretty crazy expensive.

Re: N64 Games That Stand The Test Of Time

You guys said most that I would say. With one exception: I didn’t see anyone recommend F Zero X . (Apologies if someone did!) Nintendo actually made a smart technical decision on a first party N64 game and went with frame rate over graphics and it’s SO much better for it. It may not be the most visu...
