Maneater (PS4 / XB1)

I'm not sure about this one. On the one hand it's an interesting concept: an open-world RPG where you play as a shark. On the other hand, the action is a little more cartoonish and over-the-top than I was hoping for. I rarely say this about a video game, but I kind of wish there was a little more re...

Re: Anyone receiving the TurboGrafx-16 Mini next week?

Does the TG mini come with a usb cable? If it does, I would imagine you could plug that into any common cell phone charger power adapter and that would work.

Re: 2020/5/21: Super Nintendo: Secret of Mana, Lethal Enforcers

At the end of your Secret of Mana review, you mention a new Switch version. Are you referring to Trials of Mana? That one is a remake to the original sequel to Secret of Mana (the original Trials of Mana was never released in the U.S. I believe). There is also a Secret of Mana remake that came out f...

Re: Virtua Racing (switch)

Is this the arcade version of Virtua Racing? It's one of the Sega Ages releases for the Switch and is an enhanced port of the arcade game with improved visuals (same polygon look with higher resolution and better frame rate), split-screen that supports up to 8 players, and online multiplayer. There...

Re: Neeeeds me a better Switch Controller

If you have a favorite controller from another recent system, you could use an adapter: Mayflash Magic-NS: https://www.amazon.com/Mayflash-Magic-NS-Wireless-Controller-Nintendo/dp/B079B5KHWQ/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=mayflash+magic-ns&qid=1589239106&sprefix=mayflash+&sr=8-2 8b...

Re: Star Wars Pinball (Switch)

Actually, the thing that annoys me is when you start a mission on a table, instructions will be displayed on the dot matrix, but the ball is put back in play so quickly you don't have time to read it (This is a common problem with most Zen Studios' tables). And I highly recommend Masters of the Forc...

Re: Star Wars Pinball (Switch)

Boba Fett might be my favorite table in the whole collection. But then again it might be Masters of the Force, which really grew on me despite making a not-so-great first impression. It's probably the hardest table of the bunch, but that's a big reason I like it. I also like the original Star Wars t...

Re: 007 James Bond Games

I can't really give you any specific recommendations, but if you're looking to pad out a review special, you might want to begin with the PS2 / GC / Xbox Bond games. There a quite a few of them, and I believe they are generally considered to be fairly high quality. I've only played one - Everything ...

Re: 2020/4/8: NES: Sqoon, Twin Cobra

I think that Sqoon was my recommendation. Glad you like it! And I am the one who recommended Twin Cobra ... 14 years ago!!! No kidding, I'm fairly certain that this was the first game I recommended to the VGC shortly after I began to post on the forums (in 2006 I believe). And I can only imagine th...

Re: What are you playing while stuck at home?

Hollow Knight (PS4) is my main game right now. 50+ hours into the game. Same here, but I have the Switch version. Getting close to 50 hours for me. Other than that I'm not playing a whole lot except for some Super Mario World on SNES Online when I need a little break from Hollow Knight. I think tha...
