Just based on my experiences as a kid for me and my siblings it was the only place to play all of those exciting games our friends at school/church were playing, the likes of not just SMB but also Zelda, Kid Icarus, Punch Out, Metroid, Castlevania, DuckTales, R.C. Pro-Am, Mega Man, etc., great games...
