Video Game Culture in the NHL

Here's an interesting article on how popular video gaming is with younger NHL hockey players: https://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/nhlers-weigh-video-game-culture-fortnite-rage/ The article is showing how much video gaming is the main off ice obsession with players, and has replaced playing cards or ...

Re: Who didn't own a NES in the 80's?

My older brother had a 2600 and in '86, he bought me a Master System for Christmas. This was my first console just for me. I really enjoyed it and I still have it to this day. All my friends had a NES, except I had 1 friend who also had a master system and we would trade games and play it together. ...

Re: Gaming Days probably coming to almost an end.

Interesting perspectives in this thread. I'm 43, married with 2 kids. I still game, but only a few hours per week. I know some people mentioned that they feel they are wasting their time, but I don't see it any different than watching tv. Sometime you just want to veg out on the couch watching tv or...

You can tell the people running GameStop are not gamers.

They are gamers, they''re just not collectors

Re: GameStop selling comics...

This is probably smart. Even if video games are more mainstream and popular, I often notice that mom & pop stores for comic books, cards, and collectibles (without video games) seem to survive longer than similar stores that just focus on video games. So there's probably something to that, and ...

Re: GameStop selling comics...

I don't understand why their game inventory is so small? I mean, the 3DS has hundreds of physical games available, yet I usually only see around 50 in any given store (I'm in Canada, so it's EB games here). Same with Switch, maybe 15 or 20 are in any given store, yet there's easily more than 100 ava...

Re: I love Switch, but....

I just got the Switch this week and I absolutely love it! The screen looks amazing! I got Super Mario Odyssey and it's a ton of fun so far. I've been playing on the tv, but last night my wife, me and my 2 kids were hundled around the portable screen on our bed before bedtime taking turns playing Mar...

the dock holding the Switch is really flimsy!

I finally got myself a Switch last night, and I love it! However, one thing I noticed that I'm surprised hasn't been brought up too much in reviews is how flimsy the tablet is when sitting in the dock. It doesn't click in and is not being held in any way by the dock. Any tiny little bump will knock ...

Re: I love Switch, but....

Nintendo has created this weirdly-complicated legacy for themselves. Don't get me wrong, Doom and Skyrim were day one purchases for me, but----I could have picked them up for PS4, where they looked better, ran better, and were cheaper. The portability aspect was a huge selling point for me, but mos...

New Icon Idea - can the game be beat in one sitting?

So, I usually have 1 main game that I play at a time, and this is a game that cannot be beat in one sitting. Anything with a password, or is saved to a memory card/hard drive. However, if I need a break from that one game, I'll play a game that doesn't require a continue, like any of the super mario...
